Attorney General Forms Team To Look Into Oil Price Manipulation

Someone at the Attorney General's office must have finally looked at how high gasoline prices are right now and thought, "Maybe there's something more than meets the eye here," because President Obama announced earlier today that the AG is gathering his forces to see what, if any, behind-the-scenes shenanigans are going on to keep prices so high.

Speculators. A few getting rich on the backs of everyone else who has to pay at the pump.

917-It's not speculators. Quit rehashing talking points you hear from the media. The problem is, oil is only traded in USD. Our gov't has been devaluing our currency. Examine the correlation between the rise in oil price and the falling USD. It's not speculators, it's what happens when the printing presses run 24/7, our money becomes worth less.

they will find NOTHING (as usual). for those who know history and are old enough to remember; this has been done many times before. it's a political ploy. it makes it look like "o" is doing something to help the "masses"; when in reality he knows they will find nothing. what a joke on the uneducated, uninformed and naive citizens of this great country. wake up; educate yourselves.
this country has more natural resources for energy than any other country in the world. what are we doing with our very own resources????? NADA; NOTHING.... what does that tell you? well, i'll tell you what it tells me. our current leadership is in the tank with the "tree huggers"; the "global warming" idiots; all those who believe we are at fault for all the earth's ill's and all those who think the spotted owls are more important than people.
by the way; this might be earth day but it's also lenin's birthday. duh.......

It is speculators. It is the dollar losing its value. It is supply and demand. It is opec setting its own price for crude. It is mechanical troubles at the refineries.

It is a lot of reasons. There is not a sole reason, it is a combination of several. There may be more of an influence of one particular reason at a given point in time, but never the sole reason.

Rehash that.

Bet Obama doesn't worry about fuel prices for his Airforce One or motor cades?

it's their plan to pay down the national debt.
their goal to have our prices equal to those in Europe...5 to 9 bucks a gallon. ...the second largest stream of cash to the government... keeps 'em spending.
