Mega-millionaire Donald Trump today said during an interview with FoxNewsInsider that Barack Obama is having trouble with, and spending millions to fight, the ongoing questions about his birth, his birth certificate and his eligibility to hold office – and the longer the issue goes on, the more he is convinced there are problems with the president's eligibility.
His newest comments on an issue he first raised in an ABC interview more than a week ago came today on the Fox News Channel.
"The fact is if you're not born in the United States, you cannot be president. He is having a hard time. He spent millions of dollars trying to get away from this issue. Millions of dollars in legal fees trying to get away from this issue. I brought it up just routinely. All of a sudden a lot of facts are emerging and I'm starting to wonder myself whether he was born in this country," Trump said.
He later demanded that Obama just release his birth certificate after being asked about the issue on the television program, "The View," where actress Whoopi Goldberg said the issue was nonsense.
"When you become president of the United States of America, you know that he's American," she proclaimed.
Notwithstanding her expert analysis, the U.S. Constitution requires that only those who are a "natural born Citizen" are eligible to be president of the United States.
Goldberg also said the questions about Obama remain because of racism, to which Trump responded today that suggestion is "insulting."
"What does that have to do with race?" he said. "The fact is, they asked John McCain for his birth certificate. ... They would ask me for my birth certificate ... and by the way it's sitting on the top of my desk."
"This guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn't," Trump said today. "I didn't think it was such a big deal, but I will tell you it's turning out to be a very big deal. Because people now are calling me from all over saying please don't give up on this issue.
"If you were not born in this country, you cannot be president," he said.

Why can't this birth certificate just be shown & that would be the end of it, unless it's from somewhere outside the U.S. then we get rid of Obabma and everyone involved with certifing his eligibility for office.

Eisenhower had to produce his birth certificate to run for POTUS. It was not as easy as today since he was born at home in 1890 and his mother retained the bc rather than taking it to the courthouse. BUT, he did it!

It is so obvious that he was not born in the USA. Because if he was born in this country it would not be such a big deal to just produce the birth certificate. So if he produced his real birth certificatehe knows it would disqualify him as President. This is simple logic. If he had nothing to hide he would have produced the birth certificate when first asked.
And why do the American people just take his evading the issue as an answer. We need to get rid of his behind. Anyone else would be investigated, why not him?
Actually, Trump made an error in his comment. He stated that you "have to be born in America to become President". That is not correct. You must be "natural born, not naturalized." To qualify as a natural-born citizen, you must meet one of the following qualifications:
1. Be born on U.S. soil (regardless of the citizenship of the birth parents).
2. Be born abroad to at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen, as long as that parent is a resident of a the U.S., or had been a resident of the United States within the last 5 years.
The second qualification allows for those who travel regularly to be assured of their child's citizenship regardless of whether or not their child is born while they are travelling.
I would like for those who are making accusations of this kind to address that part of the issue.
How can one be expected to form an opinion when all that we hear is irrelevant information. Obama's birthplace would not necessarily rule out his being a natural-born citizen, if one of his parents was a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth.

This is the frustrating thing about this ridiculous birthed issue. People just don't get what a real birth certificate is. A "real" birth certificate is one issued by the state, such as what President Obama has released and Snoops has authenticated as though it were necessary to do that. What idiot Trump provided is he serious? Is a souvenir given by the hospital, which is not a legal document? Trump -- you're fired. And we haven't even come close to hiring you.
Only one of the conditions that 9:41 posted needs to be true, not both. In fact, John McCain was not born in the U.S.
If he was telling the truth he would not be spending millions to hide it. Enough said.
1233am-McCain was born at a US military base abroad. US military bases abroad are considered American soil by law. This was much talked about during the 2000 primary between Dubya and McCain. Before you post something, make sure it's accurate or you'll be called out for it.
10:54 - I learned that information in myh 9th grade Civics class, as did everyone who took Civics in Wicomico County (incidently, I got the first 100% on the Maryland State Civics exam, which was recently implemented as a requirement for graduation at that time).
Since I was quite certain that you wouldn't want to take my word for it, I did, double check with the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services. You can find the information at www.uscis.gov.

If Obama has a real birth certificate it would show he was born in Africa and is not eligible to be President. That is why he has spent millions of dollars to hide it. He should reslly be impeached for his not being a natural born American. Impeach Obama now.
Again, if his birth certificate shows him to be born in Africa, as long as one of his parents was a U.S. citizen who had resided in the U.S. within 5 years of his birth, Obama would still be a natural-born citizen, and therefore eligible to be President.
