ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 28, 2011) – TOMORROW, Governor O’Malley will join the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) to deliver the keynote address during a small business panel at the 21st Annual Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Legislative Summit brings together Hispanic business owners, chamber leaders and corporate executives to advocate for those issues that impact the Hispanic community. The three day event will help set and advance the Hispanic business agenda for the months ahead, laying the groundwork for further advocacy and ultimately the ability of the USHCC to continue to successfully represent their views.
The O’Malley-Brown Administration has awarded nearly $1.4 billion to MBEs in Maryland, including nearly $139 million to Hispanic firms. Maryland added 8,100 jobs last month, the largest monthly job growth since April 2010 and a rate of growth triple the national average.
