Chuckie Schumer Gives Dem Senators Their Script

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., a member of the Democratic Senate leadership, got on a conference call with reporters Tuesday morning without realizing the reporters were already listening in. Schumer thought he was on a private line with four Democratic senators who were to talk with reporters about the current budget stalemate.

Schumer instructed the group, made up of Sens. Barbara Boxer of California, Tom Carper of Delaware, Ben Cardin of Maryland and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, to tell reporters that the GOP is refusing to negotiate.

He told the group to make sure they label the GOP spending cuts as "extreme."

"The main thrust is basically that we want to negotiate and we want to come up with a compromise but the Tea Party is pulling Boehner too far over to the right and so far over that there is no more fruitful negotiations," Schumer said on the call. "The only way we can avoid a shutdown is for Boehner to come up with a reasonable compromise and not just listen to what the Tea Party wants. "

To get the votes Boehner is going to have to go to the Democrats and make a deal. Pig headed tea party screwing up again.

The cuts they are asking for are equal to about .06 cents in a $2000a month budget. Hardly being pig headed. Maybe not enough! I would surly rather have the money in my pocket rather than have the government waste it on illegals and freeloaders.

You gotta HATE that pig-headed Tea party, with all their 'stop spending" and "stop taxing the hell out of us" propaganda. Term limits and all that stuff....that dang integrity and honesty platform can just make (some) people mad as heck....Its disgusting actually. Myself, I prefer the old career politician who spends all the money we'll have for the next 100 years, focuses his attention on newer and better ways to tax and fine us, and revels in benefits and power of this exalted position. Yep. Thats MY guy.

Let `em shut down the Gov't! IF they would only spend what they took in, there would not be any problem! Maybe this is the way to get `em to live within their means ....
