On February 5, 2011 at approximately 9:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police working in conjunction with the Wicomico County Fire Marshall’s Office and Salisbury Neighborhood Housing conducted inspections of a number bars and restaurants in Salisbury to check for compliance to local laws and ordinances pertaining to alcohol enforcement. These inspections were also completed to check the establishments for compliance to fire code regulations, building integrity and operating capacities. A total of fourteen (14) such businesses were inspected.

During the inspection process, a number of violations were noted and addressed with restaurant/bar management. One location, Rosita’s, in the Goliath Center was found to be operational without the proper licensing and was made to close.

To ensure public safety, the Salisbury Police will continue to conduct these operations to assess the compliance of local bars and restaurants with all pertinent laws and regulations.

This is BS! Salisbury is plagued with crime, but yet they had 3 Salisbury Police officers and NSSC personnel accompanying the Fire Marshall out at the bar I was at around 1:00 AM. That's 3 more officers that could have been on the streets fighting actual crime in lieu of hindering business! I think that if they are going to do these inspections that the Fire Marshall can handle the majority of it on his own!
