Mayor James Ireton, Jr. is pleased to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Fitzwater Street Storm Drain Project. This project involved the replacement of a catch basin and the rerouting of flow to an existing manhole. The former catch basin did not have an outfall pipe and the area frequently experienced severe flooding.
This project is made possible through a $35,000 grant from Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), using funds allocated by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on March 4, 2011, at the Northside Pump Station. The pump station is located at the intersection of Fitzwater Street and Delaware Avenue.
