So Whatever Happened To All That Oil Spilled In The Gulf Anyway?

Remember all that oil that BP spilled into the Gulf this summer? Whatever became of it? Well, good news. Bacteria ate most of it, reports Slate, and the other stuff was skimmed back up, evaporated, burned off, or it got diluted out into the seas.

The media won't cover it.

that is way gas is $3.08 a gal because they figure that people have forgotten about it so they raise the price to make up for what was lost.

It's not gone. The oil companies and our government want to make us THINK it is gone!
More coverup! Oil doesn't just disappear! There's still oil to this day from Exxon Valdez and they want us to think this oil just vanished?
I don't think so! I'm smarter than that! Geesh!

There is still remnants of the oil spill from the 70s in the Gulf. It hasn't gone away and won't for a very long time. Take a look at the local fisheries(it's one of the worlds largest breeding areas), and that's all you need to know.

1115-Do you even realize that oil is traded on the open market in USD? That was an exploratory well anyway, so there is no real impact on supply at the pump. Oil is pricey due to our currency being purposefully devalued, and the emerging markets. In 1990 China had roughly 1 million privately owned vehicles, this past year over 10 million vehicles were sold to civilians. That's not going to change anytime soon(and India is in the same boat). Expect european gasoline prices here shortly, which will lead to that much talked about double dip by summer 2011.

THe oil just disappeared because Rush told me it would.

Many believe the oil helped to slow down the Gulf Stream which warms the North Atlantic ocean during the winters. Hence, lots of unusually cold weather in Europe right now.

When combined with the artificial movement of the Jet Stream the affects could lead to a terrible winter season and huge profits for oil (home heating fuel) companies and natural gas companies in Europe and the North East of U.S.A.

Oil is a natural resource. Oil exists in nature. Nature takes care of the oil "spill"
The greenies want you to keep thinking that it was a terrible disaster. Off shore drilling isn't so bad after all is it?

From what I understand, unrefined crude oil from the well is able to be digested by micro organisms and is consumed naturally. That is why much of it has "disappeared". The Exxon Valdez tragedy in Alaska was refined oil products and is the reason for the long-term environmental problems there.

11:43 - you need to educate yourself.

700am is right. we simply harvest a natural resource. natural means it already exists in nature. once we get it on land and in the refineries is when it turns "unnatural".
