Well, we're very seriously considering it. You see, the O/C Newspapers seem to be tapping into quite a bit of the stories we're providing here on Salisbury News and quite frankly I feel we can do a better job. If they're going to follow our lead anyway, why not step in and take over the lead.
Ocean City will feel a major blow very soon as Brian Shane, (Staff Writer for the Daily Times) will be moving on to a bigger and better job. Brian was, (by far) the best Reporter the Daily Times has ever had the pleasure of employing. One thing is for sure, the DT's doesn't pay very well and unless you're desperate to live in Ocean City and hold a job with a college degree and you enjoy minimal pay, well, getting into the news business is the best way to do it.
Salisbury News is looking for a Reporter in the Ocean City area as we absolutely plan on tapping into that market very soon. Spread the word.

Just my opinion-- with the transient nature of most of OCs population, I don't know that it would be worthwhile to go very deep with it, unless you want to get involved in the periodic pissing contests in Ocean Pines.
It's somewhat entertaining to watch the come-heres try to throw their weight around, but it gets old pretty quick.
McGruff, remember, they'll have to register to comment.
Also, there's never been anything of the likes of Salisbury News in Ocean City.
Salisbury News can't be influenced by politicians, so citizens would get a major eye opener just as they did 2 years ago with what they tried to pull on the Fire Department/Chief.
Under age drinking and drugs are a major issue in Ocean City, yet its covered up because they want their Family Resort image kept alive.
Believe me, Ocean City has a lot of explaining to do when it comes to these matters and many others.
I wholeheartedly agree with Joe's observation concerning OC politics.
With a full year of property assessments and collections and the City only having to deploy services for about 5 months out of the year there is a whole lot of explaining to do. The cities salaries are atrocious when compared to similar municipalities and they only have work diligently for about 5 months out of the year. The very first salary that needs introspection is the City Managers - 180000 +. Then a thorough review needs to be looked at as far as building assessments not to mention operational budgets of many departments - (i.e. fire especially).
I believe one can get a general overview of what needs to be exposed.
Help yourself to O.sin City but but I suggest that you stay out of Ocean Pines
Joe, I am year round Ocean City resident and couldn't agree with you more!
Great idea
