Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On November 15, 2010 at approximately 1:20 pm, Detectives of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect following the report of a sexual assault of a 14 year old female. The female contacted the Salisbury Police on November 9 and advised that several subjects, some who were known to her, had forced her into a shed behind a residence on Queen Anne Street where they attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to escape without injury. The below listed suspect is the second suspect arrested in this case, and the investigation is continuing as to the involvement and positive identity of the additional suspects.

ARRESTED: Richard Kerwin Washington, Jr., 16 yoa
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Kidnapping
False Imprisonment
Attempted second degree sex offense
Second degree assault

On November 15, 2010 at approximately 2:16 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised the officers that store employees had observed the below listed suspect attempt to take food from the store without making payment. The suspect was stopped and the property was recovered.

Mardela Springs, Maryland
CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

On November 15, 2010 approximately 6:55 pm, Detectives of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant for a theft that was reported on August 31, 2010. Detectives received the arrest warrant for the suspect following her identification as the suspect responsible for taking several credit cards from a victim while cleaning his residence. The suspect then used the credit cards in the Salisbury area for over $ 7,000.00 in purchases.

ARRESTED: Mildred Ethel Hardy, 32 years of age
Willards, Maryland
CHARGES: Credit card theft
Use of another’s credit card (6 counts)
Use of another’s credit card (over $500) (7 cts)
Impersonating another with credit card
Credit card fraud – information theft
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking
