MORE THAN A CLEVER PIECE OF ART ! ! !

So I said to him, "Barack, I know Abe Lincoln,
and you ain't Abe Lincoln ."
For those who study history -- you recall that despite Obama's continuous attempts to quote Lincoln as a Democrat . . . President Lincoln was a Republican President!

SO WHY DOESN'T OBAMA USE THIS FAMOUS LINCOLN QUOTE:

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
... Abraham Lincoln

Some other good quotes of President Lincoln's that would be good for today:

That some should be rich, shows that others may become rich, and, hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise.
---Abraham Lincoln

The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.
---Abraham Lincoln

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

Joe,

That quote speaks volumes. Thanks for sharing it with us.

That's a great quote; it's too bad our current elected officials have ignored it for so long.

More good Lincoln quote for this occasion:

Give a woman a long lead and she will get into things she should not. Give a woman a short lead and she will stop you up.

---Abraham Lincoln

Was never a man without a twinge of desire to comfort his fellow man in the most tender of ways.

Obama is a plant from the world of Islam and the idiot liberal wingnuts are to stupid to realize it.

Our country is History!

Americans need to wake up.

The best thing we can do is vote against EVERY Democrat from the local level to the federal level. Many if not all of them are strong supporters of Obama and his actions. Case in point, Jim Ireton (D)Mayor of the City of Salisbury!!

Nice post Joe, here are my fav' Lincoln quotes...

sometimes you have to free blacks to beat the spread on your next election. I hope this "civil war" does not end poorly.

---Abraham Lincoln

When a man lies with another man, his society may not understand the greater truth at hand, or even what is in their hands.

---Abraham Lincoln

“We treat them in the same way. Those who kill our women and innocent, we kill their women and innocent, until they refrain.”
---Abraham Lincoln

“victory and glory or misery and humiliation.”
---Abraham Lincoln

Nice try ... but maybe you'd care for a history lesson?

The platform of the Republican Party in the 1850s-60s was the same as those held by today's Democrats, and was open to anyone with a liberal viewpoint, earning it the "big tent party" or "grand old party" (GOP) nickname.

The Democratic Party of the Civil War era, by contrast, was the dominant conservative party of its day.

I'm not just pulling this out of thin air. You can pick up any history book (or even Wikipedia!) to learn this.

But hey, I guess it's more fun to rag on the president than deal in legitimate historical facts and figures.

Loved it!

The Industrial Decalogue by Rev. William J.H. Boetcker written in 1916. Lincoln did not write it.

I think his plans and ideas are far from "destroying the rich". How soon we forget, we are only about 2 generations removed from the day when the rich were TAXED 90%!!!

Funny, all the stories my dad and grandpa tell me about those days it sounds like life was pretty good. A father could raise a family of 4 on a modest, blue collar wage. Those days are long gone, and they've been gone since before Obama took office.

I guess comments on the inaccuracy of these quotes or idiocy of the knee jerk anti-Obama idealogues (or leftie idealogues) won't get posted.

Obama, Dubya', Clinton, Reagan are all tools of the financial elite. These Presidents don't make decisions. They announce the decisions which have been made by their handlers.

Come on folks. Deep down don't we all know my words to be true? The President has no clothes. He has no power. He is a puppet - no matter which "pary" he pretends to represent.

The richest people in the world are not going to allow regular American people to be represented by a Constitutional Republic.

1:26 Which of these quotes are in accurate? They are common sense.

Anonymous said...

2:35 - the inaccuracy doesn't come in the ideas, necessarily, rather in attributing them to President Lincoln.

I love it when we see quote from our great leaders of the past. They are always our always out of context or in this case, never came out of the persons mouth..The quotes were published in 1942 by William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister. He released a pamphlet titled Lincoln On Limitations, which did include a Lincoln quote. Gee a religous guy bending the truth again. Hard to believe!

That is absolutely correct and I have been preaching that ever since I switched parties to become a Republican several years ago. The people that worship Lincoln are today's Republicans that support anyone with an R beside their name.

Lincoln really was a liberal! He freed the slaves, didn't he? The first-ever government entitlement!

And on the other hand, I guess that means somewhere in 1865, there was a conservative farmer clamoring to "keep the government out of my (plantation) business!"

Does anyone know who the artist of the pic is and if it is available as a print?
