RICK POLLITT – IS HE OUR EMPIRE BUILDER TO BE?

Recently, in response to a question that he surely anticipated, Mr. Pollitt let it all hang out. And it’s not a pretty sight.
Being interviewed and answering a question regarding the public criticism about the cost of the County Executive’s (his) personal staff – which includes the former County Administrator, Ted Shea, personal mouthpiece Jim Fineran and others -- Pollitt suggested, although “proposed” may be more apropos, that his staff should be expanded to include even more personnel so that he would have more time to meet the public to discuss matters of concern. Not being seated, at this point I began getting up from the floor as his response continued.
Mr. Pollitt then said that the shift to the County Executive system was not done – approved by the voters, that is – to save money, and because the County Executive was not intended to be an administrator there needs to be a sizeable staff to run the county government. He also said that the larger counties have big staffs to assist the County Executive, and jealousy was noticeable in his voice.
Once again, I got myself off the floor and began pondering if there is an antidote to this poison. Fortunately, there may be one readily available – keep the tax revenue cap that Mr. Pollitt believes should be repealed.
And the best way to do that is to elect Republicans to the Wicomico County Council

Yes because him getting more staff is more important than getting the a/c fixed for people. OMG he is just unbelievable. I didn't vote for him and wish we had a strong candidate that would win and clean house. What an a$$!!

This is what the liberal side of the good ole boy network is all about...tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend. It's happening not only in the county but the towns too. Look at Fruitland. Does it look better after all that "smart" growth? Not from what I see. We only pay higher taxes and fees and get nothing in return.
Joe, tell the State Central Committe to put your name on the ballot. I've made a couple calls my self on your be half.
