STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ON THE CLOSURE OF ROSECROFT RACEWAY

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Martin O’Malley issued this statement following the announcement that Rosecroft Raceway will close July 1.

“I am saddened and disappointed by this news. This has been a long struggle for Rosecroft, and unfortunately this is not a situation that is unique to Maryland. I’ve asked Secretary of State John McDonough to bring together the stakeholders and find a way forward that can protect the 200 jobs at Rosecroft. The local families who depend on Rosecroft as part of their livelihoods and would be negatively impacted by this closure deserve our full effort in this matter.”
