Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway continues to trim its stake in Gannett Publications - (The Daily Times parent Company) - by 21% during the first quarter of 2010. In fact, of all of Buffett's holdings - percentage wise - GCI represents the largest liquidation of its holdings. Buffett sold 451,969 shares of GCI during the first quarter of 2010 - and has sold 1 million of 3 million of its Gannett shares. This represents a 1/3 reduction of Berkshire's total holdings in Gannett.
However, what is more alarming is that one of Gannett's biggest investors - Brandes Investment Partners - sold all of its 23 million shares.
Just how low will Gannett go? Inquiring minds want to know.

If the DT would only knew to change their liberal views then they would garner so much more business from our local community.
Instead - the DT aligns themselves with special interest and propagates whatever their agenda wants them to. They don't even realize that it goes against the grain of the community.
And they wonder why their sales are deteriorating?

Oh my you are a jerk! It's the economy, stupid. Less folks buying ads. It is not rocket science. And by the way lots more people work there who DON"T decide what ends up on the front page than do, so please don't villify the whole organizatoin please. Not everyone is a one-man outfit like Joe!!!
Fact still remains that no one wants to listen to or read the liberal garbage that is being spewed out in the main stream media these days. Most folks have had a revalation since Obama has started to trasform this country and we don't like it.
It's not so much the DT's liberal bias. More the money bias (who's connected to whom). And the fact that they can't get a damn thing right.
