Pemberton Park Offers Winter Programs For Outdoor Enthusiasts

(Salisbury, MD) Join outdoor enthusiasts for some fun winter programs at Pemberton Historical Park! On Friday, January 8 at 7:00 P.M. join a Park Naturalist for an Owl Prowl and explore the park to discover these fascinating night creatures. Learn prowling techniques to use in your backyard as well. Dress warmly and don’t forget your flashlight. This program is open to ages 7 and up and is $6/person; $18/family of four; Free/Friends of Pemberton Historical Park.

On Saturday, January 9 at 11:00 A.M. Pemberton Historical Park will be holding a Birdfeeder Construction Workshop. Feed your friends and help the Earth at the same time as we construct creative and unique feeders from materials around your house. Your backyard birds will be happy you did! This program is for children of all ages and is $4 per birdfeeder.

Finish your feeder and stay for a Reptile Show at 12:30 P.M. and get an up close look at some of the Eastern Shore’s most fascinating snakes and turtles. Meet Black Beauty, Pemberton’s famous Black Rat Snake! This program is open to all ages and is $6/person; $18/family of four; Free/Friends of Pemberton Historical Park.

On Wednesday, January 20 at 7:30 P.M., Pemberton Historical Park will be holding another lecture from its great, new lecture series, The Third Wednesday Lectures. Local Beekeeper Dean Burroughs will present about the history of beekeeping since Colonial times. The lecture will take place in the Education Center. Light refreshments will be served. This program is open to all ages and is $6 per person.

Join Pemberton Historical Park on Thursday, January 28 at 7:30 P.M. for their Star Gazers program. The Moon will be full for a night of fun activities, crafts, prizes and plenty of hot chocolate. If you have a telescope or binoculars, bring them along. Don’t forget a lawn chair and to dress warmly. Meet a Naturalist in the Education Center. This program is open to all ages and is $6 per person, $18 for a family of four and free to Friends of Pemberton Historical Park.

we'll put up bird feeders & watch for owls for FREE right here at home...Thought it was a public park. BTW piliated woodpecker & very large hawk spotted with no feeders around...right here at home...
