i used to fish on the river here and there when i was in school in SBY, whats the deal with the barges. Do they bring mainly oil to sby ports? And is there any legit freshwater species in the river, or is it too polluted? I know people go for catfish and of course the rockfish further downstream toward the BAy, but what about largemouth or what not further upstream? I wana assume most of the bottom is sand or soil, nbot much for the largemouth...anybody? I kno once i caught a shad by brew river was pretty excited in the middle of febuary haah

All it takes is for one or two volcanoes to erupt and send ash into the atmosphere for things to cool down. Look back at the major volcanic eruptions and the weather cools down afterwards.

Love the snow and ice on the water. It covers up all the trash!

I grew up in Whitehaven back in the sixties and the river provided swimming, fishing and crabbing pleasure. Then developement took over and every SOB wanted to build next to the river. Now there are houses up and down the shoreline every where you look. Wonder where all their SEPTIC tanks finally leech. Then the Idiots at Salisbury continue to dump raw sewage into the river from an inadequate waste water treatment center and they say it has posed no environmental disturbance. Now you dare not swim in this river much less eat any thing that comes out of it. Gee !! Thanks ! Humans really know how to F**k up something good !!!!!!
