If You're Impressed With Our Local Police Now, Wait Until Monday!
Ladies & Gentlemen, while I'm not at liberty to expose information at this point and time, I certainly appreciate all of the nice comments coming in on the Church Street arrest yesterday.
That being said, there will be major news coming to all of you on Monday. If you're impressed now, wait until they bust open this information and expose all of the fine work they have done most recently the general public is not aware of, yet.
One thing is for sure, our new leaders in the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, the Maryland State Police, the Salisbury Police Department and the Delaware State Police will NO LONGER stand for crime on the Eastern Shore.
Out of respect for all of these agencies mentioned above I will refrain from exposing this information and will wait until Monday. In the mean time I'll simply share with all of you that because of their efforts and cooperation with each other, the safety blanket on the Eastern Shore is more secure than you've ever seen. When these agencies said, Game On, they meant it, trust me on that one.
Let me add, my hat is tipped to the States Attorneys Offices and Judges as well. While many might say, better late than never, criminals beware, there's a new Sheriff in Town and the Eastern Shore will no longer be a place for criminals to take advantage of one and all again.
More to come.......

I've noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in traffic stops in Fruitland in the last month or two.
Who knows when a traffic stop will generate probable cause and a drug bust or DUI..
Hat tip to Mike Phillips-- he's getting it done in Fruitland! He's a good man. Fruitland residents should be proud of him (and tell him so!)
One question.
Are we the people going to be living in a police state come monday?
I will agree with what you are talking about :-)... people will be VERY impressed
Joe , I will be waiting with bated breath !
TDP, trust me, this is the biggest law enforcement news ever to come out on the Eastern Shore.
They won't just expose one type of situation, they'll expose at least two different stories that will excite citizens and shock criminals.
I'm looking forward myself to the actual Press Conference as I'm very excited for the people in Law Enforcement.
By the way, brush your teeth and get that bait off your breath. LOL
anon 12:55-Blame it on the Barrie Tilghman/jackandcoke regrime. So suck it up.
I must agree Joe the agencies have been busy and that is great. I know of some situations just recently in the wicomico area that has been handled all I can say is hats off. Time to take our shore back. We live in a beautiful area and it will stay that way with law enforcement we have in place. I love the Eastern Shore and I love the USA!!
12:55, our hometown has suffered because we had a lousy mayor, council majority and police chief for 10 years who practically handed this city over to criminals.
You are either one of them posting here mad because the NEW mayor and the NEW chief are working with our county and state allies to stop the madness, or you are a disorderly puke or criminal who will get caught in the net.
Too bad for YOU, either way!
WE ARE BEHIND THEM ALL. ITS TIME THAT WE JOIN TOGETHER AND MAKE THIS A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE. THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE HAS NEEDED THIS TYPE OF LEADERSHIP FOR YEARS, AND MY HAT IS OFF TO THEM. CRIME COSTS US ALL IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. SO LETS SUPPORT THESE MEN AND WOMEN AS BEST WE CAN. KEEP THEM IN OUR PRAYERS ALSO.
"Are we the people going to be living in a police state come monday?"
If you drive rt 50 between sby and oc, then the answer is completely yes. Rarely are there less than 5 troopers (plus Berlin PD, and WoSO) running traffic on 50.
I have noticed a real huge increase in police presence recently. Just in the past week I have seen officer presence stepped up in the Smith Street area. I'm all for it.
Does any average citizen want all this crime? No. Do we want all of the agencies to work together? Yes. (By the way, why aren't ALL of the badges the same size?) Do we want a Police State? No. We want commone sense LE and less crime. No heroes! Just LE. Thanks!

If you're not messing up, it wouldn't matter.
Things have been totally out of control-- it's time to bust a few heads. I'm sure the law-abiding citizens won't mind a hard crackdown for a while.
It will save us having to do it ourselves, won't it?
Joe - you left out Fruitlands emblem from your post. They were also heavily involved.
12:47 you couldn't be more accurate. Chief Phillips is really making a difference in Fruitland. As a Fruitland resident I feel much safer with the visibility of police officers on the street. It is also nice to see him working in the ranks with his officers. He has no ego, he just wants to fight crime.
anonymous 4:01, I hadn't been told Fruitland was involved, yet I should have known better, my apologies. There were some 150 Officers involved, so I probably should have known better.
That being said, I agree 100% with all of the Chief Phillips comments. The man has modified Fruitland and morale, (including Chief Phillips) has never been so high. Their Officers truly do some very fine work and cannot be mistaken for small town cops, that's for sure.
im all for the police doing their job but i am concerned that it will turn into a police state here and that the police will start bothering and harrassing people that are minding their own business and obeying the law but using probable cause as an excuse to justify it.
i am from an area in new jersey and i have seen this happen before sometimes more cops are a good thing but they often get overzealous and it goes to hell.
Joe..... I have been checking with SBY News, cant believe you have been left out. I assume your talking about Thurs. night, and it was 412 officers, and over 7 SWAT Teams, the line that left the briefing was a mile long. If you don't have the low down, just post a reply "to the insider, I agree it was a success" and I will e-mail or call you.
OK Insider, I'm game. alberobutzo@wmconnect.com
4:42--
This ain't New Jersey.
Of course, a big part of the problem here is (no offense..) people coming here from elsewhere, where they've been kicked out of the schools, etc.
The biggest problem is parents who just keep having kids, then expect 'society' to raise them.
If we have to do it, we're going to do it in a way that works. They're going to remember it.
Hopefully, there will be some serious consequences for these 'parents' that create these situations.
We do live in a great place with a future and getting crime down is the first step to reclaiming our city. We have a good university and good schools. I think that a new aquatic park would be great for Wicomico County. We need more tourism IMHO.The more money that comes in, the more revenue to improve quality of life here.Thank-you law-enforcement professionals for all the good work that you do.
How about an OCPD logo also?
I don't know if he has room for all the logo's of EVERY agency that was involved in this operation.... GOOD WORK to ALL!!
Looking forward to seeing some positive results in our community! We need to get tough on crime! I support LE 100%...for those posting comments about becoming a "police state," you must have something to hide.
Worcester County Sheriffs Office Logo also...It was a huge operation...and Joe is right...It all came together...great success
Hey Joe,
I think you have left out several departments...give credit where credit is do....
