I recently encountered an unfortunate situation involving authentic Reebok NFL Jerseys. I purchased a couple of jerseys at a local sportscard store at a decent price which I believed to be authentic. They are the "top of the line" jerseys with sewn on letters, numbers & patches which retail @ Dick's Sporting Goods for $110/each.
Unfortunately, after I wore one of the jerseys and had it cleaned at a local dry cleaner it began to deteriorate which arose my suspicions as to their authenticity. Upon research of several websites including YouTube, I discovered they were fraudulent bootleg jerseys. Below is an informative link on YouTube which is very helpful, as far as how to spot the difference between an authentic and fake jersey:
Upon further research, I also discovered many Chinese websites that sell bootleg NFL (as well as most of the other professional sports) jerseys in the $20-$29 range. The following links are just two of SEVERAL Chinese websites that I am referring to:

There are a ton of shysters who sell these fake jerseys made from inferior materials who are fully aware that they are not authentic. There are also others who compund the problem by selling fake jerseys with signatures of professional athletes...which are also fake!
These frauds know that they are ripping off the unsuspecting public and are charging anywhere from $50-$110 jersey to trustworthy people who work hard to earn their money. They not only sell them from their stores, but also at shows, flea markets, eBay, etc.
I would appreciate you posting this on your site so that others are aware of this fraudulent scheme and do not have to experience the same misfortune that I did, especially during these tough economic times.

Out of curiosity, where are the "genuine" jerseys made? China I bet...
You get what you pay for, is allways the best way to detect a fake.

What kind of idiot skimps on money for a genuine garment then takes it to a dry cleaner?????? Either spend money to get the real thing that will last forever-or buy 5 cheapies and some Woolite and cold water for the same price. If you don't like the Chinese-just say it that way; but maybe it was YOUR OWN DRY CLEANER/YOUR DUMB IDEA who messed up your stuff.
12:46 you are missing the point the item was sold as and labeled as an authentic reebok jersey. Thats is illegal. It is one thing to sell jerseys made in china at a reduced price, but to claim that they are authentic is just wrong.
Cheap bootleg jerseys are the best! If you drop wing sauce on it... Who cares! Your only out 20 bucks!

There certainly are alot of know-it-alls and haters here. You can't make a point without calling someone dumb or an idiot?
This post was meant to be helpful, why not appreciate the heads up. Some fakes are so good it's impossible to tell the difference.
Here's the deal is...I bought FRAUDULENT bootleg jerseys I TRUSTED to be AUTHENTIC Reebok NFL Jerseys for a decent price and was giving everyone's a "heads up" to the WORLDWIDE problem of FAKES being sold as "Authentic".
You know what??? This is a message to all of the IGNORANT posts by IGNORANT and narrow-minded responses:
If I chose to be unethical as well as the other SHYSTERS out there (especially 12:46's post who most likely makes a HUGE profit illegitimately), I (as well as EVERYONE) could buy a TON of these "so-called" authentic jerseys, as well as Ray Ban sunglasses, Rolex watches, Polo shirts, etc....list them on eBay and make a living at it "comfortably at my home" by tripling or even QUADRUPLING (or even higher) my investment and making a TON more money than I do at my current place of employment that I do an HONEST job at.
Point is...if you want a "bootleg" jersey made in a SWEATSHOP in China for $20...NOW you know where to purchase them for $20-$29 rather than $60-$95...Mr. ANONONYMOUS 12:46!!!

Hahaha, if any counterfeiting company sees this, they know how to make their counterfeits better. You may have made some people more aware of how to spot counterfeits, but you also may have helped counterfeiters fool more people better.
