I think for the good of the city he should go. If he worked in the private sector, he would have been gone long ago. I think his track record speaks for itself!

Anonymous said...

These cases are closed through investigations. Police agencies cooperate with one another on investigations which no doubt is occurring in these recent robberies and shootings. The Chief does not "work this case." The Chief has personnal who "work the case", such as District Commanders, Watch Commanders, Supervisors and Detectives. Primarily the detectives. If a significant incident occurs in Salisbury the Chief is notified and he decides if the event warrants his response to the scene. A robbery and shooting at a convenience store DOES NOT need the Chief of Police to cancel a vacation and respond to the scene. It's incredible anyone could actually believe this to be the case. Incredible! SPD didn't need the WCSO at this location either. How many officers do you want standing on this convenience store parking lot? Detectives are always working on these cases, old or new, which is the reason why old cases are closed weeks, months and sometimes years after they occurred.
nothing but the truth!

anonymous 9:52, I don't believe anyone thinks the Chief NEEDED to be there. However, with the SPD track record at hand, 11 additional WBI Detectives who would NOT go to sleep for three days until the case is solved is certainly much different than the SPD Detectives who allegedly went home after only 2 hours.

Come on now, the Chief, (IF he lived in the City) would have been on the scene. Besides, hunting ends after dark and this happened after dark. Nice try but I think you, (and others) have failed in supporting Chief Webster.

Arrogant and cocky... what a flaming asshole. God what I would give to be the mayor!

i wish there was a forum on this website so people could ask questions instead of threads that get buried after a couple days. i visit this website but its like a puzzle for me to understand what exactly is going on in the politics in this city. if i had this website i would create a public forum where people couldnt post anonymously, but have to register an account and can freely discuss important topics and where people like me can ask questions.

Mike, with all due respect. This is not your Website but you are welcome to create one that fits all of your wants and needs.

I personally spend 80% of my life delivering information to you as best as we possibly can with the time that I have.

Do send me your billing address and we'll send you a bill for your subscription.

Webster believes he is untouchable. He needs a serious attitude adjustment, as in termination.

Anonymous said...

I understand Joe. Its Your website. you're the admin. Im just saying i would be much more involved if there was a forum somewhere where people could, for example give their ideas on what to do with the crime in salisbury. There is no forum for that. if you could make a place where every comment people have made about the recent shooting at the east side deli was available in once place. it would be more meaningful. when you have 20 comments on how u want the mayor to resign but its in 10 different stories scattered days apart it loses its meaning. Where am i supposed to ask a questiom Joe? in a comment on CAPTION THIS VIDEO? btw why would i send you my address to pay for a service that is free ( and appreciated) if your website is so popular just by placing a few ads on your website you could make money and even hire up people to help with your website freeing you up some time to make your website even better.
much love joe

Mike, there's a search bar in the top left corner of the Blog, you may want to use that.

In the mean time, lots of popsitive changes will be coming in the beginning of the new year.

I think he wants to be fired. He seems to almost be inviting it.

Perhaps more litigation is in the future.

Anonymous said...

9:52 you and Webster are the reason crimes in Salisbury mostly go unsolved. He said it and you repeated it, "How many officer do want standing around the scene?" Crimes don't get solved by standing around the scene like the SPD does. These detectives would be out interviewing everyone in the area, knocking on doors, asking what anyone might have seen, and talking to connections in the neighborhoods. The SPD under Webster's leadership from the phone is to process the immediate scene and go home for the night. It wasn't like Webster was very far away, he could have been in Salisbury within 40 minutes. I guess he feels that we are at the point that a robbery with a shooting is no big deal anymore here in Salisbury. Just another day in paradise for the citizens of Salisbury protected by our non-political police chief.

Anonymous said...

I have never seen someone from the SPD be so pompous as this jackass. Salisbury he needs to go ASAP! Mayor fire him already!

Sometimes its time to move on. I think that time has arrived. You cant fight the tumblers Chief, its a losing battle. Its time. You dont give a good sht anyway, not deep down inside. We love this place it is our birthplace, our home and the place we will be layed to rest. Thats the differance between us, and I lost my arrogance because it made me a better person. Trust me you will find wisdom in the darnest places. GAME OVER.

Its over, go out with what you would consider self respect. Thats all you got left.

Its funny how this arrogant b!@#$%d said on WBOC that he did not need the WCSO help but he needed 30 extra police officers at the end

Anonymous said...

Note to Mayor Ireton:

FIRE WEBSTER BEFORE WE FIRE YOU!!!!

Anonymous said...

He is definitely not a "people" person.Who would not be intimidated by such arrogance and body language?

Anonymous said...

anon 11:08 he doesnt need the help of WCSO because he can't be in control of them. There are people in this world that would prefer to see it all crash around them than to admit and accept not being the one in control, this is a prime example of that mentality. He needs the funding for officers so he can control the situation, it isn't about needing officers to control the growing crime for him, it is about being the one who controls those men and that money. Just further proves some people do not make good leaders and should not be placed in a position of power because it goes to their heads.

Anonymous said...

How can you tell when I'm lying? Easy, my lips are moving!

Anonymous said...

I think it's time for an old school picket demonstration at the SPD. Its time for the people to put a sign in Websters face that says "Fire Him NOW!"

Justin Case said...

Give me a break! What a mess. We, the citizens, deserve better than this. Quit playing politics and do the job you were hired to do, or just leave. Show some leadership and show it soon. Good people are in harms way. They need to be protected. Where is the outcry from business community. Chamber, Greater Salisbury, etc? Oh, I forgot..when it's an issue with all this drama attached to it, those groups don't want to touch it.

Anonymous said...

Everyone on here would act the same way if they were being attched like this all the time. Let us not forget the criminals are the ones in the wrong. I agree with what he had to say about having to many police at the crime. I'm not a fan one way or the other, but let's try to be fair and not just jump all over this man, because everyone else is. I bet he is actually a nice person and he is just tired of everyone saying he isn't doing a good job. The criminals are the problem, not Webster.

Tom said...

Dear 9:52,

Webster chose not to respond because he doesn't give a crap about this community. Why? Because he doesn't live here and it's not HIS community! You can bet your sweet a$$ that if it was in Sheriff Lewis' district, he would have been there. Why? Because HE CARES about this community! Apparently you are one of those from the 3rd floor! I have never in my life seen such a piss poor excuse for a Police Chief! His arrogance and poor leadership are not welcome in this town. Empty out that 3rd floor and put ALL officers out on the street being pro-active instead of reactive. Hell, they're not solving anything anyway, let them get out on the streets and ride through the neighborhoods running off the hookers, drug dealers and groups of people hanging around. Ask for I.D. from everyone that they see, incase something happens later in the evening! My grandson asked me why the detectives around here don't go around knocking on doors when something bad happens in the neighborhood like they do in Charlotte. I politely told him that the detectives in Charlotte are REAL detectives and that they solve cases, unlike the ones here!

Until you change the the make up of the city council ie:Comgeys/Shanie/Smith there will be no change in salis. period. They have ruined everything.athey are attacking the very people that have fought for the city.

Anonymous said...

Every one would not be attacking him all the time if HE DID HIS JOB!!

Anonymous said...

We will soon see whose call it is chief.

Anonymous said...

8:29, I agree with you. He spent oodles and boodles of time going after a councilwoman over something everyone (except him) said isn't a crime.

In the meantime, all hell has been breaking loose in the city.

Anonymous said...

All I can say is WOW. This guy is supposed to be a chief of police? "Thats not their call?" We want the streets safer. We pay your salary. This guy just spit in the mayors face. Smacked the citizens of Salisbury in the face. Let me collect my paychecks. Thats it from this guy.

Anonymous said...

Why are people saying get over it and stop with posting stuff like this? The crime is through the roof. Shootings and robberies are and everyday thing now. The people who say this are people who do not live here.

Anonymous said...

Ding-dong the Chiefy's dead!

Anonymous said...

one of the most deranged jerks I have ever seen. This guy is bad pure and simple

Anonymous said...

Ghanima, you do know there is a law concerning attacking someone and using a fake name, ask Joe, he knows what I am talking about. JR already knows about it.

Anonymous said...

Will you guys just leave the chief
alone! He has done nothing! I mean nothing ! He never will do anything cause he thinks he doesn't have to. He is as lazey as they come. He came from Baltimore , need I say more? He loves that yellow tie. It matches the stripe down his back.

10:23 Who is being attacked? Sharing what was put out by the local tv station is not an attack.

Anonymous said...

7:34 It's not Webster's fault? What exactly has he done to ensure the safety of the residents of Salisbury? Are you afraid after dark to go out in Salisbury? It is HIS responsibility and duty to protect and serve us as he was hired to do. The only thing he has protected and served are stupid lawsuits to ensure that his bald head would get his retirement. I believe in combining the agencies and letting Mike Lewis take over. Now there's a man that can the job done. Whether you want to believe it or not, things have gotten so out of control that it is going to take the cooperation of ALL agencies in the area. All of these fine men and women have contacts. People talk and sooner or later they will catch the people committing these crimes. So don't tell me not to blame the worthless a$$hole. He's the one that should have asked for help a long time ago.

Anonymous said...

Lets just give everyone a gun and see what happens because the police are not doing anything so give everyone a gun and protect there self

By the way jackass, it is Our Call.

We've lost dozens and dozens of officers since Webster took over, many of them excellent.
As they left, wonder what they wrote on their exit interviews as reason for leaving and suggestions for improving the department.

I offered a challenge on the previous thread. I Challenge Chief Webster to walk the streets tonight from the Thrift Travel Inn , around the Church St. neighborhood and stay alive and unrobbed. I challenge him to work in a convience store and survive. Do you think he's up to the challenge. Take a walk in the shoes of our citizens and tell me Salisbury is safe.

I know Mayor Ireton has recieved a lot of flack but you need to know after the murder on Holland Ave. Mayor Ireton walked the streets of that neighborhood alone knocking on doors asking questions. That is impressive.

More folklore...Joe...has the County Sherrif solved the case where the Subside deli owner was attacked in his own home??????...I think notand I'm pretty sure his detectives are all sleeping at night and taking thier vacations.

Jett Black,

That is a great challenge, but we both know that ain't going to happen! He won't even live in the city let alone walk the streets! You are absolutely right, he wouldn't make it 500 feet! Maybe he and his detectives should take that walk! I'd bet that crime would get solved fast!

Anonymous said...

I cannot stand how smug he is in every interview he does.

My husband was going to go out and get us dinner last night at 7 p.m. and I told him not to because I was worried about him being out after dark. We ended up eating cereal instead. That is SAD!

If the stats are there and we have proof that he is not helping with crime around here then get rid of him. Why are we as citizens allowing him to run the show? Can't our mayor do something? Why isn't he?!?

Mr. Albero,

My guess is this post was from the son of Subside deli's owner. The son is your friend Mr. Pat Davis photographer of your pics on Naylor Mill Road that day. He is also the mouth piece for Bill Gordy and Rick Hoppes. He is also a contributor to the trash blog with the green a$$hole. He is also the one that was using the pdavis@salisburyfd.com email when him, Gordy and Hoppes were trashing the sexual orientation of our mayor during the election. Much of the city email transaction was done with outraged richard trashing the mayor elect with the incident on the beach in Delaware.

It has to be Pat Davis who else would know about the Subside Deli owner!

Webster is a civil empolyee who has failed this city and it's citizens miserably. He serves at the pleasure of the citizens who pay his salary.

If he's got any ounce of self respect left, which he's so Arrogantly demonstrated that he doesn't, he would resign and save his shameful face from the public.

About patrol the officer that patrols downtown in the afternoon can usually 9 times out of 10 be found inside the ticket booth to the parking garage sitting around talking to the 2 ticket booth workers. Joe get a picture of that and post it.

Please remember there are those of us at the SPD who do care about our community and that there are those of us who would do anything to make it a safer place. So please do not put us all in the same category. We will still be the ones that are here busting our asses every day. We are the same officers who will be here regardless of who the chief is. So for those of you casting your stones at the Salisbury Police Department, I will still be there to help you in your time of need because it is my job and that is what I am sworn to do.
Make Monday a night of voicing solutions to help your desire for a safe community and not a night for political mudslinging, backstabbing, and regretable actions that will just dig us deeper in the hole that we are in.

Anon 4:03 My mistake it was Hammond Street. When it comes to Ireton I simply stated the fact he was alone in the Church Street Area knocking on doors alone trying to find out information. I was impressed with that, simple. I think Ireton maybe getting a set and I hope he continues on that path.

http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2009/10/salisbury-police-make-arrest-in-hammond.html

Anonymous said...

Officer 8:28, we support the SPD officers. It's your chief that's gotta go. He wastes officers like you. And you know many had enough and got the hell out of the department.

For his Hammond St. walk, I'll give Ireton far more credit than Chief Webster.

My take is that Ireton needs the people's support so the idiots on the council will see the handwriting on the wall and fire the arrogant Chief of Police.

Salisbury needs to come together on that one thing. Webster has been ineffective and shows he doesn't care about doing his job. Just about keeping it.
