Thomas Leggs just went in front of the Judge and the Judge refused ANY Bond whatsoever.
Thomas James Leggs, Jr. appeared before the Honorable L. Bruce Wade for a bond hearing and advice of rights hearing. The Defendant did not speak during the hearing.
The State, represented by the undersigned State's Attorney and supported by two Assistant State's Attorneys and Detectives from the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation, strongly requested that the Court order that Leggs be held without bond.
Judge Wade ordered that the Defendant be held without bond (cannot be released at all) at the Wicomico County Detention Center pending further legal action.
No further information is available at this time.

Guess the judge realized s/he really didn't have a choice in this case. They know this animal would've been either shot dead or beaten to death by the community within hours of walking out of there on bond.
Maybe if we keep up such pressure with all known sex offenders (or those charged with it), the number of sickos walking among our children will be radically reduced.
Damn shame we have to do that, really, but that's what it's come down to. The courts won't look out for law abiding citizens so we'll have to do it ourelves.

Unfortunately, there are probably several reasons he was kept in jail without bond. The biggest one is probably mob justice. The courts are afraid the public would kill him before he would have a fair trial. My self and my family are very glad he has no bond. This whole thing has been very scary for the other children of the community. it was a reality check for a lot of the community who had become to complacent in their daily routines. In the minds of our community Christmas will never be the same. I hope he truly gets what he deserves. Gods will not mine be done.

I suppose there's no hurry to charge him with murder. It'll happen soon enough, after the results f the autopsy are in. I just hope they have DNA/biological evidence to remove any reasonable doubt.

Sarah's father was at the Vigil on Christmas Eve. He did thank everyone for being there over and over again.
he will not stay in MD DOC system he will be traded off to another state and we will get some of there same type criminals. so my guess he will live in mid west after his trail.
I cannot believe that a human being would do such as this to another especially an innocent child. That being said I cannot hate enough or wish enough harm that would be a just punishment for him. I know it should be slow and tortuous. Protective Custody, housed in another jurisdiction till trail and maybe change in his name will be the only things to protect him till trial. Remember he is charged with kidnapping of a minor only at this time. He will get the best defense that he can not afford. More than likely Major Crimes Division of the Public defenders office from Baltimore..
for now his attorney of record is Arch McFadden from the public defenders office.

This is not the first time this sort of crime happened here. Back in the late 1970's 2 boys were abducted by a child molester about 2 months apart in the spring of that year. Elwood leroy Leuschner killed both boys and I know of one that was buried under a dried up stream bed in the Mardela area in november that year. I am surprised no one on this blog remembers this case. This makes 3 children now from this area that has met this unfortunate fate.

Facts are, they have done this to themselves by having mulitiple encounters with the law. No one is villifying them only stating the facts. If the truth causes them embarrasement so be it.

Leggs will serve his time right here in Maryland until he dies either by someone elses hand or we are fortunate enough to get the death penalty and have it administered. He has served time in Jessup and ECI, he either liked the attention from the other prisoners or they didn't bother with him. He probably liked the attention.

I remember Troy Crouse I was around 11 years old they convicted the one guy but around the same time two men tried to grab me and my friend but we managed to run away .

It is very surprising for any sitting judge in Maryland to be that harsh with a bond. The chief judge for the State of Maryland wants less arrests and more people to be released without requiring a bond. The district courts in the lower four counties are especially lenient. That includes judges and court commissioners. If people really knew how many criminals are released without having to post a bond, they would be utterly horified
I remember Troy Krause, his body was found on Johnson Road in a wooded area, there has since been a home placed there. I was a teenager yet still horrified. Sadly we must assume that everyone has the capability for evil, we cannot put anything past anyone.I do wish people would think before they reproduce however.Really think about it, search your soul, life requires thought, not just action. I remember the case with troy Krause and Rusty Marine. I was in the 10th grade in high school and my heart went out to Troy's sister who was in my class and brother who was a year or two ahead of me. I will never forget that man's name, (Ellwood Leuschner) that committed that crime. He also raped children in California, was released and the system lost track of him until he committed the murders in Maryland. We have to do something. With the overwhelming support for Sarah, maybe some fool will thing twice before harming a child, then again, maybe not for they are sick individuals.

Yes it is on the Wicomico Sex offender registry. I was looking through and it clearly states his crime. I will say I had no idea what Custom Pack is but have had a few people enlighten me. Trust me they will hear about it. I feel it is truly crazy that you can rape and murder someone and get out of jail. This is where the community needs to say enough is enough. 2:49 PM Walter Hovatter was found innocent by a jury after six deadlocked juries. Interestingly one of the lead investigators, after years of living with the guilt, came forward in deposition and stated he had "fabricated evidence" and "forced witnesses to lie in sworn written statements" regarding Walter Hovatter. The level of corruption in some of the Eastern Shores law enforcement officers is scary and still exist today! Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see!
I was seven years old when Troy Krause and Rusty Marine were murdered. I was living in a trailer park also so I was very scared. We need a memorial for Troy and Rusty. I used to feel as if I was the only one who remembered those boys. Thanks to all who remember those innocent boys.
