I want everyone to take just a few minutes and think about something here.
Just before it was announced Sarah Foxwell went missing or abducted, what was it doing weather wise outside, snowing. The snow that fell stuck around until Christmas night.
Did most of you wait to look on your own property until the Sheriff asked you to? NO. That being said, when Mr. Wells saw tire tracks IN THE SNOW on his property, (if he ever saw them) why didn't he just take a look around to see if there was anything suspicious going on?
If HE knew that HE didn't make those tracks onto his property and they live out in the middle of nowhere, I just have to wonder why he didn't take the time to look into where the tracks went.
I know if it was my property, I would have been following anything and everything to see what was up and that wouldn't just take a missing child for me to look into it!
Now there could be many reasons Mr. Wells chose not to look at tire tracks in the snow. Perhaps he doesn't get on the Internet. Perhaps he doesn't get the Daily Times. Perhaps he doesn't own a television and perhaps he had no idea there was a missing child anywhere. Then again, perhaps he was snowed in and couldn't get to the edge of his property to see the tire tracks.
There's a Press Conference at 4:00 today. If you've watched comments on other Posts, perhaps we'll learn something else today.

I have found it odd that little Sarah's body was found by LE themselves. Did they get wind of a connection between Wells and Leggs and that's why Wells' property was finally searched?
I know it is probably alot of traffic, but why would you not let people leave little things to remember and honor Sarah. That just seems mean to me. Cold & Mean.
If I am not mistaken, early in the investigation the Sheriff was specific to advise to NOT search your property - to leave it to experts. He did say advise of anything suspicious though.
I am not familiar with Mr. Wells layout - where he lives in respect to where she was found - but from what I hear it was a distance. Therefore, the did what was asked.
Also, early in, the investigation was focused in his area. I am not privy to ALL the facts, the conversations, the evidence, as most of us are not. Perhaps the police spoke with Mr. Wells and advised him to stay put? I dont know. Do you?
Later, when we were told to search our property and post a red flag - he should have then yes. I searched a field not too far from his and could tell that dogs and vehicles had already been there - but it was daunting, especially with hunters hunting Christmas Day.
( I heard gunshots, I assume they were hunting)
Because the search kept circling to his area - perhaps he did advise something? Perhaps he was advised of something? Too many missing facts, I would never make assumptions about someone I dont know or a circumstance I wasnt privy too. Present all the facts and seperate them from speculation and then, I would be happy to think about it.

Mr. Wells has to have internet as he has posted his comments a few times to tell others to kiss his ass in regard to how he has handled the memorials being left on his property.

WBOC SUCKS! Why wouldn't they have aired the whole thing? Ugh!
Just saw the press conference and Sheriff Lewis pleads to all of Wicomico residents to not travel or leave memorial items at Mr. & Mr. Wells property. He says starting tomorrow, Shorebirds stadium is allowing a temporary site for these items. At the entrance of the stadium.
We learned nothing new, as WBOC chose to stop broadcasting after two questions. So we have no idea what else was asked of Sheriff Lewis.
Again, WBOC shows why they SUCK as a reliable news source. In the middle of questions at the news conference, they cut back to the Oprah Winfrey Show. Who gives a rat's butt about what drivel is on that woman's show!
Well, WBOC did it to us again! Covered 3 or 4 minutes of it, then cut away to something "more important." Obviously what their viewers want to hear doesn't mean anything to them.

No new information this time. I don't even see why a PC was even necessary. I really thought we might hear something worthwhile. You reported it to us yesterday that the "Wells" didn't want their land to be a memorial, and now a day later it is in a press conferance, I thought that a PC was for important information.
That press conf. didnt say anything we didn't already know. Why were choppers and stuff at Ron Wells' house and why didnt he search his own property. Mike Lewis should have had Ron and Becky Wells front and center to reimburse Lewis and everyone else for their memorabilia he destroyed. Devastated or not.. there's no sense in it

you couldn't set one foot on Well's property without him yelling at you or pointing a gun at you....he watched that "Private Lane" like a hawk. I think he KNEW someone was on the property, unless he was out of town.
Was she found in the woods or the old house there? When the sheriff asked everyone to look on their property why did mr wells not look. are the aquainted in any way? But there are alot of unanswered questions. I have followed your blog since this started and I have not seen where was the aunt when this happened and why would he take one girl and not the other as sick as he seems to be? Maybe the Wells did see tire tracks, if there were any. Maybe that's why she was found. Let's focus our energy on convicting Leggs as well as other predators and changing our laws so these types are never out on the streets. Let our fuel in these efforts be the thought of what that little girl must have gone through in the final hours of her life!
Instead of going after each other or Wells, who don't really matter, why don't we start asking our elected officials what they are going to do about changing how these monsters are dealt with.
I would like to know why in 1999 this Leggs chump had charges that were Nolle Prosequi? And why in 2000 there were charges put on a Stet Docket? Maybe there were good reasons or maybe not; but if someone did not uphold the oath of their office then they should held accountable. We might not be able to control what happens in DC or Annapolis but we can hold our States Attorneys liable...NO MORE PLEA BARGAINING!

It snowed Friday the 18th. Which leaves PLENTY of time to have MANY tire tracks on land. Think you are taking this way too far. Why are trying to persecute someone NOT involved in this case at all. Dont you think you should be putting all this effort into Thomas Leggs? Leave the Wells' alone. Enough is enough.

Unless there is hard evidence presented to show that Mr. or Ms. Wells is somehow involved in the crime as an accessory, it's time to stop ranting about them. Recall that Sheriff Lewis specifically asked (more than once as I recall) for owners not to search on their land. That directive is not changed because some people may have decided not to do as the Sheriff asked.

He probably didn't look around because he probably didn't think anything of the tracks, who knows what he thought? who are we to judge?
Never did hear who found her and how? Any word on that?
I think so many people are looking for ways to blame the wrong people. The only person we should be hating right now is Thomas Leggs. There are so many 'shoulda-woulda-couldas'...but let's stick to the person that actually committed the crime. We need to come together as a community and stop pointing fingers. Finding others to blame is not going to bring Sarah back.
I posted this exact question the other day. They claim he does not live there, yet there were tire tracks there and he didn't check to see why someone was up there. How did TJ KNOW this was not where someone actually lived? He's been there before. I smell a rat somewhere.
I would have checked this out, and especially if I ran a chicken farm that allowed TJ to hunt there. DUH.
Unless, of course, I knew something about the purpose of the trip.
seriously, is there any real evidence of any connection with the wells family and this crime or is the community just upset about the removal of the memorial that was set up on their private property? Sounds like we have a lot of CSI/Law & Order television show watchers. All this post needs is the creepy music from the Law & Order Show. Never heard anything from a 4:00 conference. Where can I find that information?

Let us not be quick to judge the property owner, like Joe stated he may not have been aware, we have no ideal why, time will tell. As far as memorials on his property, keep in mind just seeing those things may very well cause him much pain. Maybe he feels guilt at not finding her, for not checking his property, there could be many reasons. At this time let us look inside ourselves and think about if it had been our property. I would hate to see this guy bashed, we do not know the full story. He may be a cad, he may be troubled, let us see.

I was sitting here wondering the same thing last night, it really just does not add up. Also, now I don't know how true this is but I heard that there was a house back on the property that he was working on with his father and that's where he took her. Ummm.... hello?! Now granted, if this is true, wouldn't he have offered this info to police or checked it out himself? I live in Hebron and I know that as soon as I heard about Sarah I was checking my property and the woods that surround it. Somethings just don't add up. So is the real reason he doesn't want flowers on his property because he doesn't want to be reminded of what that monster did to that poor little angel or the fact that he helped cover it up? Just sayin folks.... Be pissed all you want, you know as well as I do you've thought the same thing.
One more thing to leave you with... This nasty bastard set this poor little girl on fire, why didn't Mr. Wells see this? Understandingly, we don't know all the details yet where what was done to her but come on? If something is burning on your property aren't you goint to bust your ass trying to get out there to see what it is?
God Bless you Sarah, you are living a much better life up there in Heaven with Jesus and no one can ever hurt you again. My thoughts and prayers are with Sarah's family and friends.

I watched the 4:00 press conference and saw nothing pertaining to this wells being connected to the crime. Do you know something the sheriff isn't telling us. I also feel that the wells should have looked into the tire tracks on the property. It's a real same that they are now the focus of this attack, when the person we should be attacking is Leggs. When the wells are "cleared" of this crime I think they should request a retraction. I feel bad for them.
perhyaps maybe some things are just easier for some to ignore than others. outrageous either way. but he sure made sure that he took time to notice and remove anything left on his property by mourners.

Well maybe lets be smart about this... He lives in the middle of no where... there are 4 wheeling trails all through those woods... So when he saw the tires tracks, im sure it was a typical assumption that some stupid kid was out on a four wheeler or maybe someone just swerved off the road... You want to make assumptions like it should be common sense... But use your common sense and realize that when you live in the middle of no where like he does, and with the search targeted around the mall, Mr. Leggs home and the child's home, why would anyone just think to investigate tires tracks on the side of their property... lets be real... You, like alot of people that read your posts are very quick to jump to a conclusion or point the finger, because you have to have something to do with your pathetic lives... Mr. Ron and Ms. Becky are GREAT people and do NOT deserve to be talked about or shamed on or sworn to hell for this... it happened on their property, but if i recall they own a lot of property, it is physically impossible to control everything that goes on, on that much land... give it up... they have some one in custody... obviously the SOB that committed this crime, so why don't you point your fingers at the judicial system that let this POS out of jail to commit such a horrible crime? Ok, Anon 6:26-food for thought. If something was burning on your 27+ acres in the middle of the night..would you see it or smell it? PROBABLY NOT! Give this man a break. If he was friends with Leggs...he could be overcome with guilt. Maybe he is just an a**. Maybe he does not want to clean up the hundreds, maybe thousands of memorials that would be left there. Maybe he does not want the constant reminder. Some facts we will never know..some we really dont want to know, I am sure.
To 6:26 -- Assuming the report that Sarah's little body was badly burned is true, how do you know that the burning actually took place on Wells' property? Such a horrible thing could've been done somewhere else and then the body dumped on the Wells' land.
I think it's despicable the way so many folks have jumped to conclusions about the Wells couple -- ALL of it based on hearsay. Give these folks a wee bit of credit, please. It was a holiday, it was snowing lightly, they own a huge piece of land -- c'mon!
The Melson community suffered the loss of a well known farmer over the holidays. Perhaps the entire community was focused on that. Not everyone is obsessed with TV and the Web 24/7. Maybe they Wells' weren't fully aware, maybe they aren't physically able to treck all over numerous acres. Who knows? Maybe they didn't want to be the one's to find her. I wouldn't have wanted to. You have to live with that image burned into your mind for the rest of your life. Nothing you do will ever make it go away. Do you have any idea how much therapy our law enforcement officers go through to deal with the things they see? Go back to your lives and let the Wells' go back the theirs.

Anyone with a tad bit of sense knows the difference between the tracks from a quad and a truck. The chicken house set back OFF the road. Go to goole and look up Melson road and find Hampton court you will see the chicken house in question in the picture. This is not in the middle of nowhere. Sure its out of the way but its not like there are miles between each house.

Great people do NOT just go and tear down something. Great people think of a positive way for it to be done. When they destroyed those things they became NOT great people in the eyes of many, now they will have to pay for their NOT so great choice. We all make choices they made theirs now we will make ours.

to be honest I'm tired of hearing about mr. wells, I am very sorry for what happen to sarah and will greive along with the community for her and her family but really this isn't what we should focus on move on. there are much more important issues than private vs public property and falsely accusing someone of being involved in a murder when we have noooo proof other wise! It is very very very wrong to accuse someone who may have nothing to do with a crime and it shows peoples character. First of all....the comment about Debbie Payne is FALSE....why don't you do your research for real....I am Debbie's daughter and my name certainly isn't Jennifer Foxwell...and I don't have a daughter named Sarah!!!!!I have two daughters and they are both younger than Sarah...Walter was NOT GUILTY...I find it funny how so many people think they know it all only to be found WRONG!!!!!!
I've given this a lot of thought ever since reading it last night...
There isn't any proof that Wells knew Leggs- people here say it, but anonymously. Even if they did know one another- I'm not sure if it really matters, in the grand scheme of things.
27 acres of property is a lot to search. I don't know if Wells should have been able to see tire tracks in any remaining snow- where Leggs entered the property in relation to where Wells' driveway is. I looked it up on Google maps and it seems that there are a few areas that one could turn down that wouldn't cause suspicion. I'm observant- but it's not uncommon for tracks to be on land in rural areas- people go four-wheeling, ATV driving, etc. And, if he allows people to hunt on his property, then maybe he really wouldn't have cause for suspicion.
To say he should have seen something or heard something is wrong. It's impossible to know what's going on if you have that much property.
Should he have checked his property? Maybe- but we don't know that LE didn't tell him not to. I find it very interesting that volunteers were pulled off the search, and poor Sarah was found by LE only a short while afterwards. It suggests to me a tip of some sort. How do we know Wells didn't find her on a search of his property, as instructed by LE? We don't.
Would my husband and I have searched our property- most definitely- and so would most people, it seems. But we shouldn't judge others without having all the facts.
I think it was wrong of Wells to destroy items left in memory of precious Sarah. But, to some degree, I can see why he doesn't want them on his property. The paper said she was burned- but nothing else has said that, so it's hard to say if it's true. I know that I can't get that image out of my head- and I don't live anywhere near Delmar. I can't imagine if that were my property- I'd have to sell it- and I can see how it might be distressing to have a visual reminder of what happened on a daily basis. But again, I think he could have handled it better.
I guess my whole point is what someone said a little more succinctly- that we shouldn't pass judgement without all the facts. Someone else made a good point as well- we don't need to put the blame on anyone but Leggs- he is the one that committed this heinous crime- let's not allow the responsibility to waiver from his shoulders.
Perhaps we'll all have more answers as time marches on. For now, I'm just praying for peace- for me, for the family, and for our community.
I know for a fact that Wells and Leggs were aquainted, he hunted that property for some time and as a friend of the Wells neighbors I can asure you that he was very aware of who and what came on that property. We are not saying that Wells had anything to do with the crime but when you personally know that the suspect has access to your property, my first call would have been to the authorites RIGHT AWAY and not 3 days later. You people who are complaining about reading this stuff, stay the hell off of the site!!!!!!!!!! We all know that something isnt right here and we are trying to take back our community and when people like Wells are out there hiding something that makes us very uncomfortable!!!!!! i know TJ very very well and he does not and has not ever hunted a day in his life for wild game the only kind of hunting this creep has ever done unfortunitly is hunting women and or little girls someone said that the Wells were fixing up the old house well then what i think the conection between them is the same tip that i gave to the police --- i told them to get records of some of tj and his fathers last jobsites that they have been on either they may have delivered or installed some counter-tops at the Wells place so therefor TJ may have known where another key to another house was at knowing that the house was empty with nobody living in it this may very well have been the case ! so there you go for all you wana be perry masons put that in ur pipe and smoke it. i, having known tj and his whole family very well and personally feel very strongly that this may have been the relationship between tj and mr wells

is there a connection, yes there seems there might be and if you look at the property there are 2 roads off of melson rd making entry to the property one being gated this also being the entrance that has a card board sign on it stating please do not leave any memorials. the other driveway is very muddy in fact wboc burried their van there today so tracks being seen would not have been any issue at all. there is and always will be alot of un answered questions in this case and we all need to remember sarah as her beautiful self and try not to think of her being possibly burned. she was a precious girl and i hope she is smiling down on all of us at this time with our lord. the 2 of them will determine the fate of the sorry SOB that doesnt deserve to take another breath but thats not my decision that is my lords determination, although i would love to have a slow painful execution of Leggs its unbelievable that this happedned here in wicomico county in our own back yards. lets stop pointing all of the fingers and let the investigators do their jobs because all of these anger raged comments will only hamper the investigation as it goes on, the comments can create doubt or they can create light at the end of teh tunnel but again that will be determined by the man upstairs and the investigators working tirelessly putting the facts of the puzzle together. as one of the team members involved please think about this post as hard as it may be not to crucify the landowners allow the investigators the space they need to do their jobs because each time they have to intervien with the public and the wells family it only takes them from the investigation. the wells' allow their son to hunt their property and ill have you know that tire tracks in the snow are not uncommon around his house, considering his son was hunting just the day before out there. aside from it all, everyone needs to get over the situation, the wells' did not ask for this. isn't it bad enough that they have to live knowing an innocent child was found lifeless on their property? and now all of salisbury & surrounding areas are coming at the wells' family because they don't want their OWNED AND PRIVATE land to be a shrine for a child that was raped and murdered. leave them alone.
It is absolutely ridiculous for people to continue slandering the Wells family. Right now, we know nothing but what little information Law Enforcement has released to the public - which does not include anything about visible tire tracks, Mr. Wells not searching his property, or the possibility of a relationship between him and Leggs.
For all we know, Wells could have searched his property and, finding something suspicious, called the police himself - which would explain why she was found by Law Enforcement Officials instead of a civilian.
Perhaps the poor girl's remains weren't left until closer to when she was found, which means that Wells could have searched his property and not found anything out of the ordinary.
He also could have informed officials of his allowing Leggs to hunt on his property (if this is even true), thereby leading Law Enforcement to search his property.
So many people have argued that Mr. Wells contributed in some way to Sarah's death or the delay of her recovery. But for all we know, it could have been Mr. Wells who ultimately helped officials to finally find her.
Knock off the speculation. It's only fracturing what should be a strongly united community.
to 9:38 this is the person at 9:13 i did know him very well unfortunatly he was my ex-brother inlaw and believe me i am not defending him at all i hope and pray that he gets his a-- burnt up in prison-. for over 10yrs i have had to worry about him around my 2 kids but not anymore! his mother has lied and protected his but for a very long time but it looks like she wont be able to protect it from ol'big bubba in prison. I say what ever criminals do to thier victims they should have the same exact thing but even harsher done back to them for thier punishment and then just kill them! but thats just my opinion
