We got a visit from the Sherriffs Dept. today. Apparently there was quite a few cars on our street that were broken into last night on and around Shamrock Drive in Salisbury. A few neighbors also said the group must have come back and broke into a few houses when they went to work today as well. They believe it was a goup of kids that hit our street and the surrounding streets. Not sure if they will let it out or cover it due to the need to make folks think crime isn't "that" bad.
Thank God for an alarm system and a garage to keep the cars in.

WHAT??? crime in Sheriff Lewis land? how is this possible. guess he needs to be replaced!
Replaced? Why? The man is human and can't be everywhere all of the time. Where was the neighborhood crime watch. Sheriff Lewis can't do it all folks, this county belongs to all residents and we all have a responsibility.
Ummmm...the Sheriff's Office isn't the one that covers up crime. You might want to look a little closer inland...
1214.. your post is 100% accurate!! and you proved my point perfectly. crime is crime. idiots commit crime and that is a choice THEY make. not Sheriff Lewis or Chief Webster. Now, things are not perfect at SPD and they are not perfect at WCSO either however; this is not a result of crime. The problem is this site is all about trashing Webster and it goes over the top with its accusations. I mean come on... this site fought so hard to get Ireton elected and now that Ireton is not doing exactly what this site wants him to do (when it comes to Webster) Ireton is horrible and bla bla bla. Its just getting a little old.
I live on Shamrock Dr. I will tell you that yesterday morning a deputy came to my house and asked me if my house or vehicle was tampered with. No.
BUT I have had several issues with someone in my yard at night, banging on a window and then running.
One time somebody walked up to my front porch and left wet footprints by my living room window.
And this is all within the last couple of months.
I have bad news for the person who is doing this if they are caught by me.
Both Shamrocks, Benjamin, and the surrounding streets are pristeene neighborhoods during the day. We used to think that was the case at night. I guess not anymore.
I will say the the Sheriff's office has been very receptive to our complaints as well as MSP. I just hope this is solved soon before it escalates in to something else.
I thought that crime wasnt a problem here?? The REAL problem is that criminals know where the few nice developments/subdivisions are around here and since 1/4 of the population of Salisbury is poverty stricken its much easier to go where the money is. Even if they catch them, this "targeting" will always happen here.
Crime here is a constant, expect it and be shocked when it doesnt occur.
I'm still at a loss as to how anyone in their right mind can say that the shore has a high "quality of life".

It still IS a good neighborhood but gradually some bad elements have moved in.The difference is that alot of homeowners in that area still outnumber rentals and they are not about to let things go downhill.
