COLUMBIA, S.C. (July 2) - South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford says her husband's affair with an Argentine woman broke a trust that he must earn back — first from his family, then his constituents.
She says she is willing to forgive his "inexcusable" behavior and give him another chance, but that reconciliation takes time and it won't be easy. Her statement Thursday was the first since Gov. Mark Sanford told The Associated Press earlier in the week that his mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, is his soul mate but he is trying to fall back in love with his wife of 20 years.

He's already said that the V girl is his soul mate. This woman is doing it for the boys, and it won't work.
What a load of crap!
First of all, if it has been proven that he did not use taxpayer money for his shenanigans, then what it all boils down to is between him and his wife, and it's none of our business. He's just another one who got caught while many don't.
That being said, I hope she suckers him in, lets him believe that they are once again a happy couple, and then dumps him with a big, "How does that feel, you dirty SOB!!!!"
She is so crazy to let him back in her life. You play, you pay! He should now have to pay. Let him go down to Argentina and live with his "mistress" and they can live happily ever after. I have known too many women who have stayed with their roaming husbands for the kids sake and they regretted every minute! Mrs. Sanford on the other hand has the financial support that she needs to "survive" and if I were her, I would kick him out sooner than he can say "Maria".
I agree with you both. So sad, but once that trust is broken there's no going back to what once was. People can't help it when their feelings change, but be honorable about it and ask for a divorce. Just sayin'.
Maybe she can get some pointers from Hillary Clinton on how to handle this type of thing. She would know best.
She's not taking him back nor should she. This guy is an idiot. She has more class in her little toe than he has in his entire body. I love the way she is letting him make a fool of himself. Good for her.
