America’s Over-The-Top Hot Dogs
From New York to L.A., where to bite into the fanciest franks
For years, hot dogs have been eclipsed by their rounder rival, the hamburger. The latter upped the culinary ante when chefs started taking liberties with ingredients, giving this staple of diner and fast-food fare a makeover worthy of an aging pop star.
Plain beef was replaced with Kobe, wagyu, foie gras and, in one case, adorned with gold leaf. But at one eatery, diners don't have to make a choice between hot dog and hamburger because mini Angus sliders are one of the hot dog toppings. This frank's name? The Grease Truck.
So consider the lowly wiener in all its finery. It is being spotted on the menus of multi-starred restaurants, and it’s been a long time coming.

Try Weenies here in Salisbury -- they have the Sabretts brand dogs!
Many people ignore the importance of food packaging for the mobil public. If you're going to drive, you need to be able to eat with one hand. Things that don't work well include a Big Mac and Hardee's Chili Dogs.
At the Truck Stop in Jessup, MD, there used to be a fast food hamburger joint (Roy Roger's). The place was mobbed all the time by truckers on their way out to the highway. When the Roy Roger chain shut down, this place was replaced with a Boston Market. Ever try to eat meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy with one hand?
Almost overnight, this restaurant closed.
DELI 111 still runs the Hot Dog Man's special-2 dogs with mustard, ketchup, onions, relish or sauerkraut and a bag of chips, and 16oz soda/tea for only $3.20+tax-Lunch under $3.50!!! The chili and cheese cost a little more but it's the best, reminds people of a place in Pittsburgh...
Joe, no offense to Nathan's dogs at Sam's club-because it's good but they roll them up so tight that the bread is squished and soggy when you get it. Not good for trying to top them off.
If you see a "Pinks Hotdog stand " stop and buy one. They are to kill for. They are beginning to open branches .

Where would we have to be to see a Pinks Hotdog Stand?
L.A. California. They're NOT here on the east coast.
hot dogs kill people...processed meat is terrible for u!!!
I don't consider hotdogs food. They are fat and salt stuffed into a bag. I used to work at the ConAgra hotdog plant in Queenstown, MD. Read the "Nutrition Facts" on a package of them.
Sam's Club is the best place for the hot dog and the best price!
my momma makes good beer brats with baked beans and shells and cheese yummmm. Hey momma thats what I want one day this week
