A key part of the transcript of Justice Samuel Alito's 2006 confirmation hearing suggests that, just three and a half years ago, Republicans thought empathy was a pretty righteous quality in a Supreme Court nominee. Well, we've dug up the footage of that portion of the hearing and, as it turns out, he sells the empathy pretty well.

Mr Ricci would like to know where Sotomayor's empathy for his dislexia and hard work towards the test she threw out ended up, oh that's right a wise Latina woman knows best about discrimination and she applied her own personal experiences to make that judgement. Justice Alito never said that he would allow his "life experience" to lead him to ignore facts in a case. Judge Sotomayor has said that.
Of course, that is OK because she is a statist.
No, G.A., she NEVER said that, either. Remember what we talked about before? Words have meaning?
We should stick to what is fact, and not change those facts to fit our worldview. That's dishonest.
Also, what evidence do you have that she is a "statist"?
