Indian River Inlet Bridge Lane Closure

Indian River -- The Department of Transportation announces that the right lane and shoulder will be closed on Route 1 northbound on the Indian River Inlet Bridge from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 22. The closures are necessary to repair the cable connections to sonar devices used to monitor the stability of the bridge. The rain date will be Thursday, June 25.

Motorists are always encouraged to visit the project Web site at www.irib.deldot.gov - to receive timely and accurate traffic updates, view traffic cameras or obtain general project information.

DelDOT cautions motorists who travel in and around the existing Indian River Inlet Bridge to lower their speed to 35 mph through the construction work zone. As activity around the bridge increases, motorists should stay focused on the road and not become distracted by the construction activity.
