Salisbury Bombarded With B&E's This Weekend

Cathy's Pet Salon was broken into last night. Checks were stolen, cash and their office was torn apart looking for anything they could get their hands on.
While the Police were there taking finger prints, they received two more calls for B & E's. If you happen to have a business locally, you may want to take a ride out there and see if you too were hit.
They broke in through a back office window and remember, this New Shop is located next door to where Ted Shea was shot at the Credit Union. We told everyone it was going to get a lot worse before it got better. With the economy like it is, expect to hear more about things like this.
If YOU hear of any other business or home being broken into in the Salisbury area, let us know. I don't see many Press Releases floating around about this and I get the feeling there's more going on than we're being lead to know.
Calls for service do not tell us whether or not there was an actual break in. If you're a victim, let us know so we can spread the word.

UPDATE: This just in from the owner Cathy Williams.....

"Hi Joe, thanks for the post. On Sunday morning I was going into my Salon to do my weeks end work and discovered that I had been broken into. We just got home at 9:02 Sunday evening. I read a few posts, I want to say THANKS to the many officers that responded to my Salon. I had several come, I kept finding other pieces of evidence or more crime. The thief actually came over a six foot stockade fence, and broke into both our buildings. The officers all responded quickly, they did a very through job, fingerprinted, and collected evidence. They were also very informative and extremely compassionate. Being with the police all day I have a better understand what they are limited to do with the lack of funds and resources they have. I think the City has their priorities confused with sending too many funds to other departments. Thanks again the the Salisbury Police Department."

Get a scanner and listen closely. My scanner never stops with activity from all across the city.

thats a shame that people would do something like this to a local business.

This level of crime will, unfortunately, continue to increase unless new and dynamic leadership is appointed to manage SPD.

The mayor should IMMEDIATELY replace the current chief with a more qualified and experienced person. Someone who can seize control of the sinking morale of the agency. Once morale is restored an engerized effort by the SPD Officer and civilian staff will be swiftly forcoming.

The longer the Mayor delays this decision the more the city residents and business's will suffer.

I think she should put a big sign out "Guard Dog" on duty! That should do the trick!!!OF course, then I am sure the insurance would go UP! You just can't win anymore!!

The crime will continually get worse as long as the economy keeps getting worse! A new chief at this point won't fix all our problems!

How incredibly sad that we've come to this here in sby, which was a really nice little city up until a few years ago. Now it absolutely stinks. If the new mayor can't change the direction we're going in, we should just adjust to life in a war zone and barricade ourselves inside. Or move to a safer environment.

THE ECONOMY??????????
THE ECONOMY??????????

Don't blame this kind of crime on a recently unemployed plumber or a CPA who has seen his 401K lose 45% of its value. If you think the economy is the root cause of B+E's, you probably also believe the government invented crack to destroy the inner city black communities.

If somebody breaks in my house while I'm here I bet it doesn't take 39 shots to take them down.

12 gauge with a short barrel is a crowd pleaser. Let homeowners insurance clean up the mess.

A friend of mine lives on Mt Hermon Rd not too far from here, and her house was broken into about 2 weeks ago. They broke the window out of her back door and got in stealing a few items. The police were called and fingerprints were found and taken. Hopefully the person will be caught.

GET SCANNERS AND LISTEN TO ALL THE CRIME, THE POOR OFFICERS THAT WERE WORKING THIS WEEKEND DID NOT GET A BREAK. FROM BURGLARIES TO PARTIES TO ABOUT 5-6 CALLS THAT I HEARD FOR PEOPLE SHOOTING GUNS.

Glad to see officers who care enough to actually attempt to lift finger prints. I had my house broken into twice in three weeks, not on Deputy who responded even tried to get any! It only takes a few minutes and who knows... busted?
