Boy this commercial is some serious propaganda. Every time you hear someone that opposes this bill use the word farmer, the word developer would make much more sense. Example, "the farmers property rights are at stake". NO they aren't, farmers don't build houses, developers do. Switch the words and you get, "the developers property rights are at stake", thats much more accurate. This commercial is a bunch of developers using farmers as a fascade to do their bidding. Luckily they only fooled a few of us. Most of the county's farmers are against this bill for good reason, it is just one more nail in their coffin.

NO DOWNZONING> Why is it some farmers think they have perptual rights to farm on land they do not own? Just because some farmers rent land from some landowners does not give a farmer the right to decide a property rights or zoning issue on lands they don't own.

The big issue is property rights. By down zoning to 1 lot per 15 acres they'll be negatively affecting ALL property values.
There should be no situation where this few people make decisions which may adversely affect so many people. Especially here, where most motives need questioning.

Signed,
Property Owner who's Not a Developer or a Farmer

Wow! I didn't know farmers had to be developers to protect his or her property rights. Why don't you move to Russia or China where property rights are don't exist. BTW are you Alan Girard?

I am a young farmer in Wicomico County and really hope the bill before he county council passes today. I dont care about property rights of landowners. If this passes I know I will be able to buy land cheap in the Ag District since the landowners will not be able to develop their land. This is a real win for me.
