It made me sick to visit the District 1 Polls and see so many fine volunteers spending their day from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM watching the paint dry on the walls. You'd get more action with watching the paint dry than Citizens actually coming out to vote.
It seems the Candidates took this election day far more seriously than the Citizens but I'm convinced once a new tone is set in the Mayors Office you'll see lots more people voting in the future.
The Bob Caldwell news is exciting but again, it truly bothers me again that yet another election will come down to just a few votes. What's wrong with you people in Salisbury?
OK, on another note. The Tilghman/Comegys Group have clearly lost their stance in Salisbury. I don't care what the outcome is in the end here, Comegys cannot win. There's going to be a LOT of people looking for new jobs in a VERY trying time. One thing stands out more than anything said in all those Forums. While Gary Comegys said to Ireton, you just can't fire all these people. Ireton replied, There's going to be a whole new level of standards and if these people can't live up to them, they're gone. I'm paraphrasing but that's how it came off.
You people better get out there and vote in the General Election because you get bet your bottom dollar that Tilghman/Comegys/SAPPOA will do everything in their powers, (if they get the chance with Bubba) to get anyone and everyone to vote. ARE YOU LISTENING LOUD AND CLEAR FOLKS?

Just to clarify: the mayor can only fire or hire one person: the city attorney. What Jim said (and Comegys distorted) was that he would immediately sit down with each department head and have an interview to make sure they they were on board with the new program of actual transparency, listening to citizens, and treating citizens with respect. There are many, many good people working for the City of Salisbury who have felt beaten down by this current administration. Mr. Ireton knows that the vast majority of folks working over there are doing a really good job under difficult circumstances. They should not in any way fear for their jobs. I happen to know that the Comegys camp is spreading that rumor, and it simply is not true. They want people to be afraid of Jim being mayor. Jim is a stand-up guy, he doesn't want people to be afraid of anything--that is what Comegys wants.
The Comegys group has been spreading the rumor that Ireton is going to fire Pick and a whole bunch of City employees and that's just not true. For a radical change, he's going to expect City employees to do their jobs properly without ignoring the laws or giving certain groups special treatment. Most of the City employees will welcome this change and gladly comply. The few FOB left will be the ones having trouble adjusting to fairness, the law and a good work ethic.
Jim Caldwell is in Barrie's pocket and needs to go!
He slides under the microscope and no one notices.
Maybe the city council will get reports in time without using the courts
I hear Jim has a herinated disc in his back (2 of them) and has to start phy therapy this week...and is still out there knocking on doors and walking the streets talking to citizens. Congrats Jim
I see in that next to last picture that Bubba is standing out there with all his friends, NONE!!
By the way where is Bubb's Bovine Beauty? I don't see her in all the pics like last election.
The next to the last picture...
Two mailboxes? Is that a duplex? Even viewed full size it looks like there are no curtains. Does anyone even live there? Guess so, there is a satalite dish.

7:10 PM
No it is not a duplex, but more than likely an illegal conversion of a single family residence. Notice Bubba looks comfortable on that propery which belongs to a slumlord. That might be Bubba's new home if Anon 5:56 PM is on to something. I heard she is enjoying her free time while Bubba is campaigning(wink, wink).
You're gonna love this one.
The second to the last picture is of the house across the street from the voting place at Wicomico Presbyterian (109 East Chestnut). It's a Tax Exempt property owned by Hudson Health Services, a halfway house. Hudson Health Services are located on the Deer's Head campus, and they offer inpatient and outpatient drug rehab.
Gary Comegys said that he rented the yard for $20 for the day to place his signs. It's probably a sure thing that he didn't offer the residents the $20. They don't own the property. They may rent apartments, but they're subsidized by agencies.
It is, I believe, the case that Hudson Health Services operates using state and federal money, at least Medicare and Medicaid. If so, there's most likely a problem with anyone placing campaign signs there at all, let alone
"renting" the property to do so.
Anyone care to comment?
I'll admit I know very little about the elections around here. So when and where is the general election?
Where is Bubba's Bovine Beauty during this whole campaign. Do you think she jumped ship on him as well? I hope she is smart enough to see through that brainless mind of his and get out while she can.
12:44,
Vote for Ireton on April 7! There are three voting places, depending on where you live--call the Wicomico County Board of Elections and they can tell you.
