"Salute To The Heroes" Ball Skipped By Obama

After Obama was sworn in as our new President that promised change and viewed the ensuing parade, there were 14 inaugural balls to attend on Tuesday night. Of those 14 balls, the only one that Obama did not attend was the "Salute to the Heroes" ball, which honors our Congressional Medal of honor winners.

Since it was started in 1953 by President Eisenhower, he is now the first President to skip this ball in it's 56 history.

However; he did have time to attend the MTV ball. It's nice to know where his priorities lie.

See the link below for details.

When I first read this I thought this can't be true, but it is. As Commander and Chief how do you skip this? For those reader who don't understand what CMOH is take a minute a read about some of Americas' greatest heroes!

Still he has a better record when it comes to the veterans than McCain ever did.

Imagine that!

Just let's keep it in perspective.

obama is a rock star celebrity! NOt a President, nor will he ever be. He is all "rapped" up in being the "first". He is a joke! The country got what they wanted, a celebrity!

Wonder why this wasn't on the news and a big deal made about it? What a loser. I'm not a yobamanite and never will be.

If it's any consolation, he didn't make it to the American Indian Society Inaugural Ball either. Although we built the totem pole, we're still on the bottom of it.

Hmmm imagine that, I guess not enough fan fare or hoopla for it to be important enough to matter. May God bless all those that have fought to keep us free. Remember Freedom isn't free!!!!!!

He didn't go cause he is scared of our military might. He is a bad president any way. Oh. It is not because he is black.Or bi-racial.

What a shame. Foolish to go to a "rockstar" type of ball, but not to salute our heroes. What a shame. It reminds me when he won't salute the pledge of allegiance. Foolish foolish. Here comes the ruination of our government. The minority is the majority. Ridiculous. All I have to say is, if he is the C-In-C, why not support our troops. They need it. Many men die for our country, but our president won't or didn't go to the ball to honor them? Stupid. I see our country going to S!@# already. To the other bloggers out there, I'm not being racist or prejudiced, it's that he has not quality of a true president. oh, by the way, I am not republican or democrat either. It's just a shame to see our "Messiah President" not support our veterans or our troops. Next he's gonna take all our guns away. Way to go modern society.

Sorry I let the A word in on the previous post-trying to keep it clean

Alls I know is if I see one more tacky *** shirt, coin set, collectors plate, hat or other Obama souvenir I am gonna blow chunks! He is a mere mortal,people-just a man!He is not a god,or a messiah(this is the correct spelling of THAT word by the way)or anything other than a man.
His loyalties do not lie with our soldiers or our veterans who protect his rights, but with the very media circus that idolizes him and got him elected. Before you reply and call me a racist, save your breath!I just do not believe in false idols or idol worship.

This affront doesn't surprise me. This guy has been against the military all along. I agree with Donna and disaree with 1:47, who has to be an obomaite, for sure. Its very sad that our President woould not give recognition to the guys who did the fighting for him and this country, while earning the MOH, really madening sad!

You know its about time we get a president that has actually had to struggle to make it. If he is going to be good I don't know but he can't be any worse then John Mccain. So he skipped a ball that every president has attended since god knows when...I could care less, shows me that he isn't following politics as usual. For you guys/gals so against him, the fact is, is that he is the President, you can't change it, and you had better pray he does a good job instead of downing him with every little thing, or the next job lost may be yours.

Wow, I feel much better now that you've brought the birth certificate thing again.

Struggle to make it? Maybe if affirmative action and minority scholarships didn't exist...

Ok, so maybe the Salute to the Heros ball was the wrong one to miss, but look at it this way... They made appearences at 10 of the 132 different inaugural balls in and around DC and I believe that 8:00pm was the general start time for most. I'm not too sure how long the latest ball ended, but I imagine it wasn't much past 2:00am thus giving Barack and Michelle 6 hours of party time. Thats 360 minutes to make an appearence at 10 balls allowing for 36 minutes at each inaugural ball not including travel time from location to location, which I imagine would have been quite difficult and timely being that 2 million people were still filtering out of the district. Attending 10 balls that evening would still be a pretty well packed evening.

Ok that being said, is 36 minutes at each location enough? Not really if you ask me, but I suppose it is something. If we really want to point fingers, Bush only attended 8 balls in 2001. Hey Republicans, want me to make you feel really bad? Clinton holds the record at 14 for the most Balls attended (1997).

In addition, I'm not going to say that this "The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball" doesn't exist, but it was not on the official list of "Unofficial Balls" nor can I find an official website to confirm that it indeed exists. All I can find are blogs and discussion boards complaining about how he didn't show up to this particular ball. If somebody would, but post a link where I can find more official information about this particular ball.

I'm going to leave with this...so what?! He missed a ball, he also miss the other 122 unofficial balls. Guess what, he also missed the African Ball, does this mean that he's not really black (or half) and just has a really good tan? Get off his a$$ and quit trying to find any reason to discredit the man. If these folks within and outside the goverment took half the energy that they use trying to bring down the guy and directed it toward fixing our stuggling nation we would be on top of the world once again.

I AGREE WITH DAVE C. MY HUSBAND IS MILITARY SO I DO BELIEVE IN EVERY THAT THEY STAND FOR! BY THE WAY HE VOTED OBAMAH HE MAY NOT HAVE MADE IT TO THE BALL BUT HE DID DANCE WITH MILITARY ON STAGE SO YOU CANT REALLY SAY HE DOESN'T CARE. REALY WE NEED TO FOCUS ON MAKING OUR NATION BETTER AND NOT WHAT BALL HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT. THERE ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT THEN THAT!
