The schedule has been updated by the Salvation Army as of 5:00pm this evening. THANK YOU, to all that have volunteered to give of yourselves. We still have a lot of slots to fill, so PLEASE, if you can, take a couple of hours and help those that help many, within our community. We will keep you updated as we are updated.

How about furnishing a schedule for the Fruitland Wal-Mart?
The Optimist Club is scheduling for the Fruitland Walmart. Give Bob Caldwell a call, he'll be more than happy to put you to work. 410-251-2799
While I was out ringing the bell for the Salvation Army this morning I was told that volunteers were down 20% and last year they had so few volunteers they actually had to pay people to ring the bells. What has happened to our community? I don't know of any time the Salvation Army struggled for help like it is now. The population has increased so why do they have to beg for help? Is everyone really that busy with their lives? Does Salisbury offer that much that you can't find even 1 hour to give? I don't understand the mentality here any more. When we were nothing but a spot on the map, pass through to Florida, we didn't have these issues. People were happy to help with whatever was needed. Where have these people gone? I'm sorry, I just don't understand.
Hey Joe,
My husband, Bryan and I will be more than happy to cover Sam's Club on Thursday 12/4 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm.
Thank You!!!!!
Veterinary Technicians from Healing Hands Animal Hospital will be ringing bells at the Fruitland WalMart Saturday December 13th. Please come see them and one of their service dogs!
Joe,
In yesterdays post you made a statement about not being able to get the firefighters and EMS personell to come out and help.
Just an FYI, the Parsonsburg Vol. Fire Co. mans the kettle at K-Mart every Saturday night from 5:00-9:00 and will be doing so through Christmas. These men and women really care about the community, and seemed to be enjoying themselves while doing it.
They even took it upon themselves to purchase candy canes to pass out to those who contributed to the kettle.
It really makes me proud to see that these fine people from my community are giving of their time to do this.
Are any other area fire companies helping out?
I challenge them to do so!!!
Yes, SOME of the local Fire Departments are involved and my hat is tipped to ALL of them.
We could obviously still use a lot of help.
Thank You Parsonsburg!!!!!
Last Saturday I served as a bell ringer for the first time in my life. Myself and several other members of the Salisbury Fire Department manned the kettles all day. Each person giving at least two hours. It was a great experience and enjoyed every minute of the time. On Monday night I rang again.
The feeling you get from this experience will bring great joy to your heart. It is one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever taken part in. I would urge anyone or group to volunteer for just a few hours. Bring a friend to share the time. You wont regret it.
