The Fruitland City Council election will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm at City Hall on Main St. in Fruitland. This is an important election. Every registered voter needs to make an effort to get out to vote on that day.
Mark Miciotto has talked about how he'll change things for the employees of the city. Why didn't he do it while he was in office before? The votes were on his side. It didn't happen because those three votes decided to give the employees a minimal increase. He never wanted to work with the police department. There is only one officer he has ever befriended. It's no secret that these two names are considered the crooks of Fruitland.
The only way we can stop Mark Miciotto from hurting the citizens and employees of Fruitland is by showing up at the polls. I still don't understand how Mr. Miciotto has been able to run his illegal business out of his garage. If any other citizen attempted to do this it would never get past the city council or the permit department. Do we really want someone getting away with this to sit on our city council being part of the decision of future tax increases, etc.?
I for one do not like knowing the man had his hands in my mailbox today. His excuse is to hand out his flyers. The words on them aren't worth the ink it took to print them.

The same is true for Gloria Ortiz who only seems to be a clone of Marc. I really haven't seen her do anything and I hear she does not always attend council meetings. She doesn't listen to resident's concerns and I have never seen her in the black community. My vote will go to Ed Cowell who may be new but is very freshing to me.
Yes 9:58, it IS against the law to go into someone's mailbox. The problem with Mark is he thinks he's above the law. I'll call the police the next time he's violating the laws, any of them!
Yes 10:18, I've heard the same about Ortiz not being at every meeting. Even when she has attended she doesn't stick around to talk to the public.
It would be good to have someone on the council like Ed Cowell who knows how to talk to the college students living in Fruitland. I strongly believe that he would be a great asset for us.
My other choice will be for Ray Carey. He talks to the citizens and attends all meetings. He's not on the council for his own agenda.
I've had an opportunity to work with Ed Cowell and found him to be honest, hard working, punctual, and a person of his word. He'd be a huge asset to the City of Fruitland.
Integrity is very important in an elected official. Ed's got plenty of integrity.
Isn't everyone tired of hearing about Mark , mark ,mark ???? IMHO he is much better the REEEE TARD TULL who got run over by a golf cart and IS mentally ill. Mark can be worst than that.............
3:28 at least Tull has an excuse. What's Mark's excuse for being the crook he happens to be? I refuse to allow any of the taxes to go towards the betterment of Mark's property, moving anything around on his property and protection from being caught by way of permits and fines. He's an a$$hole we don't need on the council. You wouldn't be tired of hearing his name if he weren't running for the seat. Trust me, I'm tired of his name also. This town has two Mark's living in it that badly need to move. One is in the process thanks to his mealticket moving to Pocomoke. The other needs to get a real job to keep his busy.
Yes Anon 3:28 you are so right. Mark can be and is worse than that. Why? Because he knows exactly the misdeeds he has done and is still doing and he continues to rub it in everyone's face. We are much smarter than this con man who frankly deserves in be in jail rather than on the city council. But then again, wouldn't that be a scream to have this official charged with a crime AFTER he wins a seat. That would seal his fate in future elections. Go Mr. Carey and Mr. Cowell.
I was going to mention that I found a flyer in my mailbox yesterday. I guess I wasnt the only one. How is he supposed to sit on council and pass ordinances and regulations when he cant even follow the letter of the law? I will be voting for Cowell and Carey. Ortiz doesnt impress me, and seems to only be there for....I really dont know why she is there.
to 1018 where isn't the black community?i am white, fruitland is salt and pepper. tired of people having to go to the black community, to get votes look to your neighbor chance are if the black community is next door. lok at the candidate, not his color..
In today's Daily Slime there is a letter from Valerie Mann asking for support for Gloria Ortiz. Is this why the SGT. was seen parked at your home while he was ON DUTY. Everyone knows the SGT. is also supporting Miciotto are you?
How can you support a woman who isn't at all of the council meetings? She's the Treasurer she should be at ALL of the meetings. Frankly she doesn't do much now at all. She's a nice lady but nice isn't a reason to be on the council.

I looked at all the ones running for Fruitland City Council and found that Mr. Giles and Mr. Carey would be the best choice for Fruitland. I think they are the only two that have the people of Fruitland at heart. Wisdom they have which means a lot.
