My Silver 2000 Lincoln Navigator was stolen from my driveway at approximately 10 pm last night. It has Maryland tags 429M371. There was a Delaware temp tag in the back of the vehicle that belongs to a boat trailer that could possibly be used. There was a hit and run last night involving a light colored Navigator after leaving the Royal Farms store on Main St. Any information on this please call me ANYTIME at 443-783-0877. There is a slight scuff on the corner of the right rear bumper. The front tag also has a slight bend through the middle of it.

Just curious, were the keys left inside of the vehicle when it was stolen? One would think that a Navigator would have effective anti-theft equipment installed ...

you should have spent more of your money on a better house insted of a too expensive truck that can be stolen in your own driveway do you even have any security lighhts there. i know it may be hard to hear but i think it is true.

Not my house but thanks for implying. Security light is in the front yard. To some people it just doesn't matter.

Typical responses of today's sad state of America. "Let's blame the victim, it must be his fault somehow. The poor criminal needs support to be a better person, let's not judge him too harshly." And we wonder why criminals roam our streets committing crime after crime?

I asked a simple question about whether the keys were left in the vehicle or not. I did not assign blame in asking a legitimate question.
These days many vehicles are stolen right out from under the owner's nose by the simple act of leaving the keys inside, and the doors unlocked.
There is a name for it: It's called contributory negligence.
I was by no means being sympathetic with the criminal here in asking this question. If/when he is caught, lock `em up and throw away the key! Problem with this thinking is our court commissioners will probably release him on "personal recognizance" to facilitate continued bad behavior.
It's just with the crime out there in today's society, it seems to be idiotic to leave one's car vulnerable like that, and then to complain that it got stolen.
Maybe when the thief runs out of gas, he will abandon it, since it's so expensive to fuel up.

No matter how it got stolen and what the circumstances were, it doesn't make it ok. What's pathetic is that I'm sure this isn't the first time this criminal has stolen a vehicle and probably not his last.
Gosh, most of you are really being harsh on this guy! What do you do, bash on anyone you can anytime you can? Many of these coments are simply uncalled for. Shame on you.
WE aren't the ones who got an overpriced, ridiculosly large truck stolen out of our very own driveway. save that shame party for someone else.

Thanks for posting this info on here for us. It was a pleasure talking with you and we're supporters of your efforts to clean up Salisbury. We've gotten overwhelming phone calls with support, even from the gentleman who was hit by the Navigator in question. We would gladly return the gestures to others in need. We're not asking for pity, just a few more sets of eyes out there. We know the crime statistics here in Salisbury. We like it here and hope to see crime addressed in a more aggressive nature. Keep up the good work Joe.

we are supportive and hate crime, but you must take your lumps here too...criminals arte pretty stupid and usually only victimize someone who left themselves vulnerable.did you leave your keys in the vehicle or set an anti-theft device?(if you did/did not, you are actually contributing to our crimewave not helping it)..simple question i believe..and im not daddio who asked it to start with

If they were, you have to accept some responsibility for the opposite effects of in your own words, "...efforts to clean up Salisbury..." for you have contributed to the contrary.
I went out shopping today, and was on the lookout for your vehicle. I did not see it, but if I had, I would be the first to call it in and report it.
As I previously stated here, put the bum in the slammer and throw away the keys!
But just think for a moment how one would explain to their insurance adjuster for a claim on a stolen vehicle if it was left unlocked with the keys inside!
Insurance companies offer discounts for vehicles with anti-theft devices installed.
What will be their attitude if those measures are not implemented, and you paint a bullseye target on your property instead?
And folks complain about how insurance companies handle claims these days.
Did the guy who lost his own truck(and did someone in your family also really refer to it as " a family member")AT HIS OWN HOUSE just refer to others as ignorant!?!?! You just lost my support dude (you actually had it for awhile)! BTW...i bit my tongue for awhile, but should we also feel pity because you probably cheaped out on your comprehensive insurance coverage with the uppity lizard too (hence your tears because you can't actually "be made whole" again)? There are real people (PEOPLE-not your priceless depreciating truck-i.e. pretty much worthless CHATTEL {not the moo-ing kind}) that are being victimized on our streets (refer to recent headlines in this very blog) without compensation/justice because this area has grown way beyond its ability to provide adequate pro-active police patrols/quick response when the poo actually hits the fan. And YOU are calling names while people ask what appear to be pretty legit questions (did you leave your keys in the car-your silence now speaks volumes about the true answer to that question). Whether he left the keys in it or not has no bearing. He should be able to leave anthing he wants on his property without having some low life come steal it. If they want one that bad..get a job and earn it.
Doesn't sound to me like he was asking for pity, as he stated. Looks like a "hey, keep an eye out for this truck" post. Lighten up people. Yes, there are bigger fish to fry out there but it's not asking a lot to maybe keep your eyes open while out on the road. IMO, I think the ignorance was most likely pertaining to the name callers in earlier posts. Storm is over. Get outside and get some fresh air.
yeah its 2008 you can't leave things open, unlocked, or unsecured any more. Never will happen again. Remember not all crimes are committed by career criminals, there are crimes of opportunity committed all the time.
