Who Lied This Time Barrie or Pammie?

Apparently, someone provided Terry Cohen with the figure of $1500 being left in the Other Attorney account that could be transferred and used to pay Wilber to show up at the last Council meeting. Turns out, that was false information. So what else is new in Salisbury?

New Figure on Attorney Funding Obtained

At the June 9 council meeting adopting the FY09 budget, in response to an inquiry by Councilwoman Terry Cohen, a list of "other attorney" payments was provided at the table showing a balance of approximately $1,500 in that account that would be eligible for transfer by the mayor to pay for the city attorney's services.

However, in an email from City Administrator John Pick, dated June 12, the council was given a corrected balance figure of $6,000 from Director of Internal Services Pam Oland. The reason for the revised balance came as the result of Ms. Oland's review of the bond counsel's May bill. Ms. Oland stated, "...fees related to the reallocation of the 1999 bond should actually go to the water and sewer fund...."

This indicates that funds are available to pay for responsibly managed city attorney services through the end of this fiscal year. We hope this information answers questions received from constitutents.

WHERE DID ALL THAT MONEY GO -- TO HELP BARRIE "GET EVEN" WITH MR. LEER???

As I interpret "on your side" explanation: It isn't a matter of lies; at the time, there was only $1500 showing in that account. It is a matter of juggling; money "paid" from that account should have gone against Water and Sewer. So, they merely re-allocated it to the proper place, leaving $6000 in the "other attorney" account. Barrie and Pammie should work for Ringling Brothers; they are 2 of the best jugglers ever seen. And as Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute." I think he was referring to Salisbury residents. Where would we be without Campbell and Cohen trying to keep them honest?

In other words, Pam STILL can't keep track of the money.

All that hand wringing over paying Paul Wilber was just another bunch of hooey.
