It's Saturday Night and the General Admission Seats are packed. I'm told there are around 6,000 people in attendance and the Shorebirds are trailing 2 to nothing and just made a nice double play to start the bottom of the 5th inning.
Earlier the Shorebirds Catcher was hit in the head by a ball while batting and was removed from the game. Sorry for the late start but let's see what I can deliver the rest of the game.
The Hagerstown Suns Pitcher is throwing a "no hitter" so far.
So much for a no hitter! Man on first and third, one out. Wild pitch, man from third scores! Man from first advances to second. 2 outs. Suns 2, Shorebirds 1.
OK, we're in the bottom of the 6th, one out and a man on second and third base. Big Bad Mahoney is up to bat and just sacrificed himself to SCORE the man from third base, score 2-2, the Shorebirds are tied. The inning ends with a tie score.

The 7th inning is over, no one scored. 2-2.
Error on the Shorebirds cathcher and a man scores allowing the Suns to go ahead by one run, 3-2. We're now in the bottom of the 8th.
We start off the bottom of the 8th and David Cash just hit a double down the third base line. Wild pitch, Cash advances to third. There is now one out. Make that two outs now. Big 6' 7" 260 lb. Mahoney is up to bat. He smacks the ball, sends Cash HOME and gets a double on the play! We're tied 3-3 with a man on second!
ANOTHER DOUBLE, Mahoney is also home and another man on second! 4-3 Shorebirds! Bases loaded, 2 outs and the Shorebirds are giving them a run for their money. The rain is coming down more and more but no one is leaving and the game is getting very exciting.
The Suns have a new pitcher warming up, awe, too bad, eh? The inning ends but the Shorebirds are now up 4-3.
I was just informed the Caps are in the Playoffs! Caps WON 3-1!!!!!!!! Congratulations!
There are TWO down and one out left to win the first game of the year! Is it wishful thinking? GAME OVER! Shorebirds WIN! Time for some FIREWORKS!

Great work Joe! It's great to see that many people out! So if you complain about nothing to do in Salisbury come to these games! They're a blast!
It was a great game this evening even though the rain became a pain in the seat LOL. Nice pictures Joe, good shot of my wife in the third picture of course I was behind the wall. Better luck next time.
