PLOW DAYS IN MOUNT HERMON
Joe:
You won't believe it . . . but the Amish were here today plowing fields at the corner of Airport Road and Mt. Hermon Road.
There were 5 or six teams of horses or mules. Each team was equipped with a plow or disc. One team had six horses tied together pulling an 8' disc with no trouble.
Here is a photograph above. Oyster fritters, barbique chicken were served throughout the day.
There were thousands in attendance. The event was partially sponsored by Reverend Oren Perdue.
Thought you might be interested.
Cheers,
Johnnie

Wish I would have attended this event. I was raised on a farm where even today still use Belgium Horses to help with the plowing. Looks like it would have been a lot of fun!
Damn!! I thought that was Barrie Tilgman's face, a real ASS!!
It was a GREAT event and the Amish were very glad to come. They said they had never seen so many people watching them plow. They got a kick out of it. We are hoping to make Plow Days an annual event. Thanks to everyone for their support!
