Gas Humor

True! I hear though that the station owners/managers claim they only
make a few cents per gallon that is delivered to the pumps. So who are the ones getting rich? Recently returned from overseas and gas was almost $8.00 a gallon - so guess we are the lucky ones! Ha!

On a talk show this morning I heard that the profits from the oil companies were "at record numbers" for the first quarter of 2008....do ya think?
Question is, what can we do about it? President is an oil man, and we occupy Iraq...how dumb are we, the American people, for allowing this to happen?

I don't know if those with ideas like these are hopelessly ignorant,or just plain stupid. One more time,so pay attention.A:Investment to earnings ratios for most oil co. excluding recent mergers, show average profits over long term.Study percentage not dollars.B:For all the whining we do,consumption has yet to decline. That tells me fuel is not overpriced.C:Americans have enjoyed artificially low energy costs for decades. Those days are gone for good.Don't expect $3.50 gas when the rest of the world will pay $4.00.D:Exploding industry in India and China, the weakened Dollar, poor distribution, and the risk of future instability in oil producing regions all contribute to pump price. For those citizens who live their lives through "talk shows",or believe a "gas strike" will be effective, I have to ask, are you for real?
