i have nothing against giving to charity (and i do give plenty)however people in the county are taxed to death and are having a hard time making ends meet and with this county and country in the state that it is in we could use that money in our own pockets with tax breaks and cuts.....the rising cost of fuel and everything based around it......from electric to food..i think and this is my opinion this fat and other fats need to be cut. stop spending and start cutting.....

Why in the world would we want the local government to give our money to charities? Isn't most of the enjoyment of giving to a non-profit, the very act of choosing to whom you will give? I don't understand this. We pay taxes. We give to charities. Who decided we will pay taxes, part of which will then be given to charities? Is this like saying to the citizens, "YOU WILL GIVE TO THESE CHARITIES!" This is simply inappropriate.

My neighbor got hurt doing something fixing up his rental house, the house he is renting I should say. He will be out of work even longer than he thought and may need an operation, besides the weather has had him sidelined from landscaping from all the rain for about a month.

Boy what a deal, charge someone to pay the mortgage on the house and they do work on it to improve their quality of life. He does landscaping so It's been a tough winter with a pregnant wife (Due soon) and a teenage girl.

He told me DPL was threating to cut off his electric, I told him he should go to Shore-Up. He said he did and they are out of money. So I'm glad to see Shore-up will be able to continue to help people during hard times with their much needed funding.

I know the system gets sbused, he's a military veteran, seems to be a hard worker, shame some people want everything for nothing, others work hard and in times of problems can't even get a bone throwed to them.
