The Daily Times Plays Hide & Go Seek

While Greg Latshaw was in fact at last nights Council Meeting, I saw nothing in today's paper about the meeting referencing the budget amendment?

This brings up a certain problem. The Daily Times has a new deadline in which they cannot reach in a heated Council Meeting/Debate. Greg stayed as late as he could last night but missed 100% of the actual fireworks because of the deadline.

The question is, did the Council put it on the agenda as the last item because they knew they'd get shot down and it wouldn't be decided until after the deadline to go to the press? What I find most curious is, there was other information from that meeting, yet they printed nothing in the actual print version of the paper.

So here's what "I" see as an upcoming problem. Will the Council attempt to move the meeting up to 5:00, instead of the normal 6:00 PM? I guess we're going to see just how powerful the Daily Times is in this community because they're now fighting other battles demanding they get information a day ahead of time so they can compete with 47 & 16 News.

All in all there should have been something in today's paper about the earlier portion of last nights meeting and there wasn't. There's always tomorrow. ROTFLMAO!

The photo above clearly shows Greg Latshaw sitting there when Paul Wilber got up in front of the Council for the beefiest part of the entire meeting. He got up and walked out, without listening to any of the controversial debate on the budget amendment. So why didn't the rest of the meeting go to press?

Wasn't the budget amendment the main "meat" of the meeting? It would seem that the reporter would at least stay to see what happened, even if he missed his print deadline. As hard as it is to believe, there are still many folks who check online for what they might have to report (I use the word report loosely).

Somebody told me now the new press deadline is 5 p.m. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

Having the meetings at 5 PM will also make it harder for citizens to get to the meetings and be informed enough to speak about the issue in real time.

With all that new equiptment you would think they could allow for a later deadline.

Not to worry, tomorrow the Daily Times will continue this story and paint Debbie and Terry as obstructionists, and quote the genius Comegys windshield/rear-view mirror logic (gee Gary where did you steal that line?) and imply that the budget was 23,000 less money than the original and still those terrible 2 city councilwomen would not blank check rubberstamp what the mayor wants! So Greg, have you turned in this article yet?

Took a lot of guts to vote like they did last night. I commend them both for representing the citizens of Salisbury against poor financial record keeping and mismanaged monies.

Gary Comegys doesn't want to look in the rear view mirror because he doesn't like what he sees. Corruption, lies, TIF's, the list goes on and on. He also doesn't want to hear about his own personal failures as a financially responsible person and a father.

Ask his son Travis what he thinks of Gary as a father and as a man. Out of the mouths of babes...

Joe, is it feasible to request 2 pages of the Baltimore Sun be devoted to the lower shore for some real news to read? How many new customers would they want us to drum up to make this a paying proposition?

Right on 957, I hope everyone will show heartfelt support {like ty emails, the least we could do}to those 2 councilwomen for their unwavering stand they've taken for us taxpayers. They truely shine above the others, even outnumbered. The stress alone would send most folks running. A deligent persuit of the recall for the other 3 persons is desperatly needed. Last night they clearly showed they only have their own agenda.

Greg Latshaw is a joke as a "reporter" anyway. He "quotes" people by rephrasing what they said, usually keeping the meaning but nonetheless not "quoting." And you can be sure the TT will do a hatchet job on the two classy ladies who are still standing up for what they believe in and for the citizens of Salisbury. If the day ever comes when the "Filthy Four" (Tilghman, Smith, Comegys, Shields) manage to "break" T & D, ALL residents of Salsibury should flee as quickly as possible. Thank the Lord there are 2 honest, devoted people still willing to be slandered and smeared.

It seems that all of the reporters asigned by heads of the Daily Disappointment, to city government are always interns. I realize everyone must start somewhere, but with the turnover they have with interns we will never have one that actually knows about all of the nuts and bolts about this administration's years of blunders.

But then again the Tighlman Times does like reporters with blinders on.
