On Wednesday evening I was traveling West bound on business Rt. 50 when I came upon this ambulance at a traffic light with his rear spot lights on. There were NO other lights on this vehicle going with exception of the head lights and tail lights. In other words, no emergency lights.
I decided to flip my high beams to let them know they had rear lights on and they immediately turned them off, then ON again. This was like having a set of high beams heading towards you and I happened to think it was rude.
Nevertheless, this guy then decided he was in a MAJOR hurry, hitting speeds of 80 MPH on Rt. 50 with no lights on. Well, that's not exactly true. He had the wrong lights on heading the wrong way.
My point is, we have been talking about safety and so forth, yet this guy is cranking 80 MPH down Business Rt. 50 without a care in the world. Like what I've been saying or doing lately, you guys are going to kill people and you have!
This bullshit has got to stop and someone needs to get some kind of control over these people. IF you have a digital camera, bring it with you at all times. They're usually small and compact and you'd be amazed at how many pictures you'll come across while you have it with you. Take some shots and send them to me. Let's get these Idiots off the road before it's too late!

Yes Lifestar is a private ambulance service.
Yes it is a private ambulance company that transports bullsh!t calls to doctors appointments, etc. There are some good people there, but most of them are rejects from real ambulance companies.
They have also been in numerous crashes and at least one involving a fatality.
Those private ambulance drivers can be dangerous.
That is why most all 911 paid guys come from the private ambulance service anyway. There is many paramedics or other emts-b that came from the private service than got to the career side. More than half of the paid guys once served on the private side.

Yeah, so hard for the fire dept., he's blaming us for a private ambulance.
Although I have to agree, hate me if you want but if ANY emergency vehicle is negligently speeding with no audio/visual safety device, it should be reported and the driver should feel some repercussion for their stupidity. Then to drive down the road at night, with the rear scene lights on was extremly dangerous to other drivers. Come on guys, I don't like what Joe Albero says alot of the time, but this was a legitimate complaint and it's giving him good ammo on his vigilante crusade against the department. Let's just use our heads.
Next time Joe, inform the local police dept. and they will make them aware of this infraction.

If the ambulance was doing 80- miles per hour, what were you doing to catch up to them? and you must have been doing almost 80 to try to document it with the camera... so......... that being said, and the "evidence' you provide with your camera, at 80 miles per hour you were driving with one hand and at most one eye to be able to take the picture you took!! You are not an emergency vehicle with or without lights and horns going so you have effectively documented your breaking the laws that you so adamantly and vehemently accuse the emergency vehicle of violating.
Not only that, did you call the company or the police so the situation could be corrected? Or did you just let them go on being as you put it "rude." Did you do anything to correct the situation like call the ambulance company or the police so the situation could be rectified or did you simply allow the situation to continue and thus have at least some liability had there been an adverse incident? As a concerned citizen it is your duty to "report them as you see them" and make an attempt to correct a dangerous situation. Along the same lines, being you were as close as the photos show you to be the LifeStar logo should have been visible. If it were not visible because you were "blinded" by the lights then what in the name of all that is holy were you doing as close as the photos show you to be "blinded" so badly you could not see the logo, driving nearly 80 MPH with one hand, looking through at best one eye while taking pictures?
And, before you get off on that high horse, No, I am not a member of any fire department nor am I a member of any EMS either private or Fire Department.

I was not chasing this vehicle. If you'll notice, it was heading in my direction. Business Rt. 50 towards Hebron. I turn off at Memory Garden Lane, quite a ways away from where I took these photos and couldn't keep up with him. Also, don't think for a minute I didn't have my lens zoomed in on this guy. For those of you who think I was close, I was not. At certain points, (because of the light at Nanticoke Road) I was able to get close to him and I certainly admit I wasn't doing the speed limit at the time but I was trying to get a tag # so I could do something about it.
I'll add, I get sick and tired of getting additional bills on my cell phone for calling 911! We ALL pay monthly fees for the damn thing. Then when we call for an emergence to HELP THEM OUT, we get billed additional fees to make the call. It's Bullshit!

Not true at all! In fact only a very very few come to us from private ambulance companies. Private ambulance company employee’s are typically career department rejects

The truth is that most of the rejects at Lifestar are rejects that can't get a job in the real world of EMS. Did you morons from Lifestar know there was a nationwide Paramedic shortage. If you were a real Paramedic that would be your ticket to anywhere in this country. You are obviously uneducated because your grammar sucks. I bet you aren't a Paramedic.

the paramedic instructor at worwic worked for lifestar, 6 out of 8 career personnel in pocomoke, atleast 3 in delmar, atleast 5 in ocean city, a high number in salisbury, all the paramedics in princess anne as well as a majority of their emts, all worked or do work for a commercial company. I am not trying to arque because people will always disagree but I just want to put it out there. Anyway just ask the people from these companies and you will see that what I say is not a lie. Oh and by the way I work for Pocomoke, Snow Hill, Willards and Powellville all part time, until a full time ems job opens up.
I am in the field now trying to better myself and get more expierence before jumping into P-School. Would you not agree that is the best way to go ,or would you say lets jump right in out of B class. I think i know your answer to that. Again, i work on both sides of the fence. More so 911 now that i got hired on the 911side. And by the way i agree the way to go is the 911 side because thats where the heat gets put on you, but i still say people fresh out of class that cant get a 911 job do to lack of availibilty which is in fact the truth, can still start there profession on the commercial side then jump when the time/positions come.
Yes, there are piss poor ems providers prolly more on the commercial side. However ,dont forget there are piss poor providers on the 911 side as well. And i know excellent providers on the commercial side that i would put up against anyone, this includes P-medic,medic's, and emt-b. I'm not here to bash people and there skills just stating not all are bad providers just cuz they wrk commercial.
