Another GI Made It Home Today!

The young soldiers name is PVT. Jessie Parks, United States Army. He arrived at Wicomic Airport this morning at 10:10 and will be home for 15 days for the holidays and since his birthday is Christmas Eve, he will be able to spend that with his Family as well. He will be returning to Ft. Benning, GA where he will be attending Jump School for the 82nd Airborne. Incidentally, he is the Nephew of Lt. Robin Roberts of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office. Robin should be proud!

Jessie, Welcome Home and Thank You for ALL that you do! Call me, we'll do lunch on me! Oh, and if we have to we can bring your Uncle too. LOL

He looks tired because he is. He's been up for about 2 days.

Yeah, that happens every time you eat at Going Nuts Cafe. Stay away from that joint!

I would like to thank you for posting this. I'm high school friends with PVT Parks but what about all the other soldiers that have returned recently. I have one friend that just arrived a few weeks ago but nothing on these people. I saw another article here welcoming someone home. Just saying we need to recognize everyone not certain people.

As we become aware of these Soldiers returning home we go all out. However, if we're not made aware of their return we cannot know they are returning. If you, or your friends, would have the families contact me directly I will assure you they will be recognized.

I'll add. I also know of some others who have returned that are a part of the elite military in special forces who cannot be recognized, EVER! As much as these men and women deserve to be recognized, these are people who put their lives on the line every day and we cannot expose who they are in fear the rest of the World, (our enemies) would love to know who they are. I sincerely hope you understand that I respect ALL of the Soldiers coming home and leaving to protect our Country. Some of them, (I just happen to know) are behind enemy lines regularly not just in Iraq but all around the World.

So we're doing our best and will continue to do so down the road.

Joe, what you do is a very positive thing and I am greatfull for it. As someone with prior military experience it is really nice to see just how much that people do appreceate what we do or in some cases what we have done.

Pvt, congradulations so far and best of luck. Your willingness to serve your Family & Country is a clear example of the moral fortitude that it take to preserve the safety of our country.
