Interesting 911 tapes. Honestly, where do "we citizens" draw the line? I for one do not believe that the police will always be there to protect me or my family.
Would I shoot someone over "stuff?" I would like to think that I would not shoot to kill them... but to keep them at the scene if I had to... perhaps a knee? :)
But if you touched my family? All bets are off. I would not think twice about the ramifications of stopping someone who was harming my family. If you come through the doors or windows of my house, you best have a damn good reason.
I think he can get off on the fact that he said that the guys were in his front yard. They did have a crowbar, which can be a deadly weapon. I hope he gets off. He should get an award.
We have a right to protect our property. I would like a neighbor like this guy.
We have had soooo much trouble in our neighborhood over the last two years, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it eventually comes to that.
A man was beaten in his own back yard, cars are being robbed on a regular basis, and over a dozen homes were burglarized last year.
Not to mention the high speed chase that ended in the next door neighbors front yard the other night with one suspect armed with a 9mm, full clip and one in the barrell, and a cache of body armor stolen from a police firing range.
