I have to agree. However, when you fill out, (if you can) your application, (or have someone else do it for you) for volunteering at the Salisbury Fire Department, knowing your home address and more importantly who's your Mother for emergency purposes, it's got to be tough on these guys to answer questions that are unknown.
The stress on that alone probably keeps the majority of applicants away from even considering signing up. Think about it though. They aren't capable of coming here and even making up a fictitious name and instead can only post under anonymous. These guys didn't just ride the Short Bus, they wore helmets too.

You've figured it all out! Now you know why there's a lack of minorities in the FD. #1 you have show the initiatvie to show up and actually fill out an application and #2, you must exhibit the ability to fill out the application and it does require a signature, not an X at the bottom.

In perusing your posts from last week, what influence were you able to claim politically? I mean, outside of a bunch of FD crap and pictures of Shanie Shields asleep at the wheel, whats the claim to influence?

Anon, that is the most racist, ignorant, uniformed comment I have ever heard in my life. IF you are indeed a member of the fire dept, you have just made Joe's point in a big way. If there is a way he can find out who you are, the Chief should definately discipline you and make you attend mandatory sensitivty training. Wow, touched ANOTHER nerve. I miss two letters in my post and I can't spell.
You miss my point. It may be that African Americans don't volunteer in the numbers that caucasians do. Could that be in part because it may be well known that SFD has racist underpinnings.
Notice I emphisized the word IF in my original post. I think that there is more to your sensitivity to the post than meets the eye.
Just think of how much more traffic you would get if you fixed the site so it works in Firefox.
