More Proof There's No Gangs In Salisbury
Perhaps when the Chief's black Crown Victoria looks like this he'll agree there are in fact Gangs in Salisbury? This photo was taken near the new Salisbury Mall. I'm thinking of rubbing grease all over my cars so the paint won't stick.
Your post makes no mention of the rear plate of this van or of the vans possible origins.
I notice there is no front license plate to that van. Since MD law requires front plates, I would believe that the van is from out of state. Therefor, so could be it's graffiti.
Hahaha - how thoughtful of you caterina! But were it my van, I would have cared enough to of removed the graffiti promptly rather than waiting for the city or others to do it for me.
I thought issue was important to the Salisbanese people. Since the graffiti was posted on this site, only two people managed to show up to help remove decal & marker graffiti. Neither of witch even live in Salisbury. Where is the care? Is it only verbal?
Catrina, I agree with you and find your advice extremely respectful and helpful. If I hope to implement my idea I would have to step out of the shadows and get to work. I have already begun to do just that. But to mention such on this sight would be irrelevant to any of Joe's posts. This is why my comment has made no mention of any program.
I have however mentioned the absence of actual citizens of Salisbury that have yet to "come out of the shadows" and take care of their own neighborhoods. City Council meetings and pointing fingers have so far accomplished nothing. The graffiti still remains except for what some non-residents have done. Where are the residents who were outraged? Where are THEIR ideas? It's been much complaining and no action.
I for one have been walking the streets of Downtown Salisbury for 17 straight days and nights, sometimes till 2:30 a.m. doing my part to help out.
I can tell you that since I've been doing so, the major graffiti has come to a complete stop. I have met hundreds of people who appreciate every bit of what I'm doing.
The Police Officers have been extremely helpful and on the ball, seriously.
I have also worked with Urban Salisbury and I can tell you that some of the graffiti has already come down. The balance of it will be removed this week. I will add, I have had nothing to do with the removal of the graffiti that has been removed so far but intend to be a part of that this week.
So don't go around acting like nobody is doing anything but complaining because your statement is very wrong.
Joe, I simply got off subject trying to respond to caterina's VERY good comments. Seriously I really liked them.
You are right about your involvement, there's no question there. I too have spoken with Urban Salisbury as well. I know that they were talking with contractors to remove it.
But I do find it ironic that the graffiti still remains as long as it has. I must indeed be naive. I actually think it could be removed quickly and at little cost if people step up to do it without waiting for the political wheel to turn. — I was told to get approval from offices of 3 city officials in order to remove graffiti from signs and traffic lights. Not that I heard back from them, but Is it really THAT complicated?
The question still remains unanswered. Was the van tagged locally or could it have been out of state?

I didn't tag the van so I wouldn't know.
As for the graffiti, it's a new thing to the City and their first atempts at cleaning it up will take some time, like it or not.
