The other night I was driving through the City when I noticed every single light on in the Government Building. I called Jennifer and said, would you know why every single light would be on in the building this late in the evening? She replied, the Cleaning Crew must be in there cleaning the offices.
My first thought was, why every light, is their Crew that large that they're in every single office? I then asked, how many buildings do the Cleaning Crew clean for the City? She replied, all of them. Anything to do with City Government they have professionals come in and clean.
I then said, wait a minute. Are you telling me that they even come into the Salisbury Zoo and clean the office there? She replied, not just the main office trailer, they do Carrie's building too, as well as the Public Bathrooms.
OK, Charles Jannace talks about cleaning house and cutting corners, which is the right thing to do because for far too long things have been way out of control and this is just one of them.
I have been in business for some 20+ years now and I have NEVER hired a cleaning crew. When I was at full staff everyone pitched in and forgive me for using this as an example as I'm confident he won't mind but even Charles Jannace knows how to clean his own office and not hire a cleaning crew.
The taxpayers are paying far too much money for luxuries that are simply ridiculous! Do "all" of you actually feel good about having Cleaning Crews coming in and wiping up after everyone goes home, because everyone is too lazy or this is just beneath them? I can see polishing the floors and maybe cleaning the bathrooms, but offices?
I'm VERY confident since this is a City & County Government Building, the County is taking a free ride as well and I personally think Charles Jannace should look into this and blast these people. It's just another area where money can easily be saved and it should be looked into.

Look at the majority of businesses out there do NOT have their offices cleaned. There are a million to one small companies verses large corporations and I do NOT consider the Government Office Building and certainly NOT the Salisbury Zoo big corporations.
I agree that certain things should be outsourced, like cleaning bathrooms and floors/hallways. However, get off your lazy butts and get something done. The taxpayers are simply paying out way too much money for cush luxuries and it needs to end.
Next year they're absolutely going to raise taxes in the City of Salisbury. Well, guess what Folks, quit cleaning these buildings and that probably includes the Police Department and every other Government Building in the City and watch how much you save!
Start charging the Salisbury Zoo a water bill for all the wasted water they use each and every day. They're collecting Grant Money left and right from the Federal Government, why should you local taxpayers be footing the bill for their waste?
Jim Rapp purchases food from local Grocery Stores and pays TOP DOLLAR for this food. Make them change that! Jim, if you forced Carrie to submit the bills every week, Sysco wouldn't drop you as a client/customer because you refuse to pay the bill on time!
So much in the City is mismanaged by wanna be managers that Barrie continues to allow working for the City and everything is based on trial and error and most end up being error. Don't let someone like Carrie Samis go because she refuses to turn in the bills on time and creditors cut the Zoo off. No, keep her on because one day she'll learn to do her job properly. It's a joke Folks. Someone needs to force some changes and do what's right for the City Taxpayers.
