Hunter Nelms Steps Aside And Respectfully Puts Major Doris Schonbrunner In Charge

Rumors are simply a horrible thing. The original word that was out earlier this morning was that Hunter Nelms resigned and stepped down. This is simply NOT true!

Respectfully, Hunter Nelms has many loose ends that need to be cleared up before he steps down and considering he is swamped with numerous responsibilities he simply doesn't have the time to "direct" the Sheriff's Department.

That being said he has assigned Major Doris Schonbrunner to be the "Go To" person for the time being for all Officers to answer to. IMO, it's a VERY honorable thing to do as the Citizens and Officers come first.

I have personally spoken to Hunter and I trust and believe everything he has told me. Some may try to twist things, similar to what I was first told this morning. Some had even said he was doing so in order to spend full time supporting Kirk Daugherty for Sheriff and that's just not true at all. As a matter of fact, when I mentioned that to Hunter he laughed and said, "Joe, it didn't work for Doris, what makes people think my support is going to help Kirk? What you've been told is a lie, it's just not true."

If you think the Daily Times would allow such slander without proof, you're absolutely crazy! I refuse to allow such ridiculous Jr. High School BS on this Blog Site, let me assure you of that.

Please understand that this Blog Site is NOT the National Inquirer!

Your message was 100% slanderous and "if" what you say is true, prove it in a Court of Law, NOT on this Blog Site.

I mean that with all due respect. I'm not trying to piss anyone off here. However, I would protect you the same way I have proven to protect others.

That being said, leave the cat fight at the office.

Hunter has done the SAME thing that Old Paul in Fruitland did. What a cop-out. What is it with these old cops and their young "subordinates". Tickle their balls and they'll give you the world.

There are allot more to the stories. That Dept has been run like the Island Of Cuba for a long time. And most are afraid to say anything. They all have kids and mortgages and Don't want to end up like Kenny Pusey did after the last election.
