"The top people in the Pentagon probably aren't," the commander in chief continued, "because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies — that make the bombs, and make the planes, and make everything else — stay happy. But we're getting out of the endless wars."

President Trump isn't interested in getting us into a war. That is why the pentagon brass doesn't like him. They make money where there is a war. It's called the military industrial complex. I know several people who after they retired from the federal government went to work as 'consultants's for defense contractors all had contracts for well over a million a year. One went to work for a well known defense contractor and was sent to the UAE to "consult" for a million a year. The contractor was paid by the federal govt 3 million per "expert" they sent to the Middle East to consult. They pocket millions if not billions from the government.
The military industrial complex is just one of the many groups that keeps America's economic engine running. Very complicated and has taken many many years of building the engine for full performance.
Start removing some of the engine parts (as we've seen in the past) - then the engine fails.
That cannot happen given our circumstances.
