A Viewer Writes: Virtual Learning

So is it just me or are there other parents and grandparents having issues logging into this virtual learning in Wicomico County Schools?

Other parents are having issues too

It is just you. We ran 3 different zoom classrooms simultaneously this morning with zero issues.

I'm a teacher and all of my students were able to log on.

Call school per the instructions.

It’s not you! My child can log in but the links are the problem. I’m guessing it’s a teacher issue. Not all are tech savvy.

All across the country and Canada, teachers and students were experiencing some problems with virtual learning due to problems with Google.

so when the teachers kid is acting up and interfering with the teachers ability to teach, who helps the individual students at home who miss our on their education. Why can't the teachers teach from the school buildings that are being kept up with ac and lights on. They can mask up to protect themselves from the other teachers, and be saved from distractions at home. Who helps the kids who cant log into xoom classes?

My 3 children were all able to get on and loved it! I was really stressed this morning but once I was able to see how this was going to work, my nerves settled. I was able to get my work done as well.

We have 4 special needs kids and 1 son. It was total chaos. We are hopeful it will be ok going forward.

Glad all went well for you and your children. Not everyone was that lucky. Counting on tomorrow being better us.

Worcester was so bad, parents trying to call the schools got a message from Verizon that they couldn't get through. Board of education wussed out, would not answer calls .

No wonder we have such a bunch of stupid kids.

Teachers are allowed to work in the building. Their kids should not be running wild around them- and if it continues you should say something to their grade level administrator. As far as helping kids log in, that's on you. It's up to the parents to make sure their kids can get on. If you can't, find someone who can. Until we finally get to go back...in 2021.

You must have had laptops that were actually loaded properly. Three of ours are back at the school for second time due to the tech not setting up properly. Some still do not have laptops at all. If it works for you. Happy for you.
Our experience has been nightmare.

After witnessing how this will work (or not) yesterday, it is no wonder they kept parents in the dark till the very last minute. High school kids start at 1015 and end at 2 or 3, same with middle school kids. I have friends who high school students have not 1 but 2 study hall periods! Oh, and Wednesday's, there is no school. This is the biggest travesty I have seen in this county, and the blame lies only with the BOE. Still have not heard how they will get the COMAR 180 days of school in this year. What a joke.
My direct neighbor is a elementary school teacher, well educated, well respected and she has not one positive word about this, but they are NOT allowed to complain or comment on any social media.
