The public is invited to observe the meeting in-person or via livestream on PAC14. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is limited seating in Council Chambers to allow for social distancing.
The County Council reserves the right to close a portion of this meeting as authorized by Section 3-305(b) and Section 3-104 of the General Provisions Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

It's late and for the haters, yes, I too lazy at the moment to look it up but if said section seeking closed section is per personal matters I would observe, the CC function here is not regarding the capacity of personnel over which they are supervising or even hiring, that is done by the people and in this special case they represent the people. Because they (CC) are making the election if you will there is no cause for - or parallel to- approval of appointments. The session should remain open.

Surprised they are working - city of Salisbury isn't.
They need to restart the process. I know a lot of people say they want Anderton.... He is to buddy buddy with Jake Day and the City of Salisbury. I want a leader that will not roll over for the city, but one that will stand up for the county.
He has not accomplished much in the way in his time in Annapolis. He will tell you he honestly does nothing but smoke cigars and sit around doing fantasy football and what not. What makes you think he will be a good fit for the Executive. You already know what he has done politically. Carl is the "See me Candidate" not the do the job Candidate. But then again, look at the county council... What a joke.

I agree and I know a lot of people do not want crybaby Carl.
So if Carl Anderton doesn't get discussed for an appointment tonight is he going to do another FB Live video tomorrow morning crying like a baby again?
If Carl Anderton was smart he would do everyone a favor and withdraw his name from the process. He has already embarrassed Wicomico County and the State of Maryland enough.
I was talking to my State Delegate the other night and he said that Carl Anderton can't get any Delegate or Senator to support him. That speaks volumes!

Well Snowflake, it's obvious you are in the minority here. Those 4 council members were within their rights to follow the charter and chose the best qualified candidate for County Executive. Just because your high school dropout who has never held a real job lost doesn't mean that he should get the job. As a county resident, I commend my conservative council members for doing the right thing. You lost, Bye Felicia!

Who is still a Republican? Carl Anderton is a registered Republican. Doesn't mean he is a true Republican like Dr. Rene Desmarais is.
