Should political candidates promise to do things for illegal immigrants?
Some of the Democrats running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in Massachusetts’s Fourth district think so.
During an online forum, the moderators asked three candidates about what they would do for illegal immigrants.
It was a user-submitted question from someone in Fairhaven that stated: “COVID-19 has presented unique challenges for undocumented individuals and their family members. How will you support them during the pandemic and beyond?”
All three candidates seeking to replace U.S. Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III said the federal government needs to do more for illegal immigrants.
For democratic socialist, former Wall Street regulator, and Brookline resident Ihssane Leckey, that would mean free health care and money during the coronavirus pandemic.
“One thing I think we need to usher in immediately is $2,000 a month for every individual in our country,” Leckey said during the event, called South Coast Debate and hosted by Students of MA-04 on Friday, August 21. “This is a way that they can live a life with dignity, put food on the table while we clean up the mess of COVID-19, and move on to recover our economy. But look, I fight for Medicare-for-All and a Green New Deal for these reasons. As somebody who has lived in poverty, I understand their hurt, and as an immigrant, I understand their hurt. I will be fighting very, very hard for them in Congress.”

I support one thing for illegal immigrants, a one-way bus ticket out of the United States. Anything else is ludicrous. There are far too many American citizens who deserve our support over those who came here illegally.
Tell them and the wetbacks both to go back to Mexico
Somewhere along the way the concept of illegal as in illegal alien has been lost
I have no problem with illegals getting free healthcare, free education, free food and a couple thousand dollars pocket money. The problem I have with this however is when they think the federal government should supply these benefits. It should be a model project in the 4th district in Massachusetts. If these residents want this I'm quite sure that there are hundreds of thousands of illegals that would be happy to participate. Let's find out if it works or not don't you think? I'm thinking they could raise enough money to fund this if the sales tax was increased by 50% in their district. Property taxes could be raised by a mere 50% to help with the funding. The income taxes in this district could be raised at least 50% because these illegal folks should be living the good life, equal to the citizens of this area. We should get a report at least twice a year from the elected delegates letting the rest of the country how it's working out for them. C'mon folks, put up or shut up!
Illegals DESERVE to be Deported Immediatley with NO benefits !!!!
Northwest Woodsman : I am of the opinion that these illegals should get one free benefit from the government and that would be forced transport back to wherever they originally came from. Preferably in locked cattle cars and not modern and comfortable airline accommodations.
8:00 am, Exactly!!! They need to put THEIR MONEY where there mouth is, leave the rest of us out of their mess. We will see how it goes, won't we?
