1 in 5 churches facing permanent closure within 18 months

(CHRISTIAN POST) – As many as one in five churches could permanently close as a result of shutdowns stemming from the coronavirus pandemic, according to David Kinnaman, president of the prominent Christian research organization Barna Group.

In an interview with NPR Monday regarding the status of American churches after months of shutdowns, Kinnaman said although churches were handling things "pretty swimmingly" at first, circumstances have changed for some.

He noted that although many churches have opened as states' shutdown orders are loosened, their services have had "a lot less people coming."

It's time to open the country. We've all been exposed to the virus and whatever happened just happened. If you're under 45 your chances of dying from it are the same as any other form of accidental death. We're still driving our cars, and we can go back to church, too.

It's almost all black churches which is excellent news. Almost all black churches just like most blacks aren't real Christians are not real churches anyway. The democrat governors need to keep the restrictions on in their states so more of these fake black churches lose their a$$es and are forced to close.

Churches are not supposed to be in debt. If churches were run according to the bible, they would not need to close. Same with business bail out. Bail out no one. Stop stealing my taxes and printing money. If the business is run into the ground, let it close and someone else can give it a go. It is crazy what is happening.

With the restrictions in place at my church forcing me to wear a face mask during the entire service, and to sit in our fellowship hall outside of the sanctuary, and the fact they are registering our names in case anyone who attended church on the day you attended tests positive for covid-19, will have to go to the health department to be tested for covid-19 and quarantine to two weeks!!!

My wife and I work, we cannot afford to lose two weeks pay for an insane policy!

I refuse, so I have to watch the service from either Facebook or Youtube. It's not the same as being there in person and having fellowship with the people there.

It's the rules and restrictions that have turned me, and family off from going to church.

Until the insanity stops and church grows a pair and opens up without restrictions, I will not be going, which truly saddens me, because for me, it was a ray of light in a dark world.

Let God sort it out.

If they close, I guess God didn't want them.
